ipod shuffle and M3 E92, 2009

Hi all,

I've read as much as I can and based on what I've read, it seems I should be able to use the older "ipod shuffle" in the car.

It also seems I have a few ways to do this:

1) I can use the glove box
2) I can use the arm rest (with apple or BMW cables)
3) I can use the arm rest with a 'jack-to-jack' cable

The basic trade offs loss of the ability to navigate if I use a straight USB connection or a jack-to-jack.

have I missed anything...can anyone confirm??

Smile yes but

If you use the BMW cable it works but each time I start the car I have to go to the right while on the ipod screen and reclick "random" or it just pays all tracks in alpha order(ipod menu needs to be on play all tracks.

maybe this is the key

Seems as if when I turn the ipod OFF and then plug it in the i-drive stays in random play when car is restarted!?
