Car accident - Need FRONT END !

Hello fellow forum members,

I lost my M3 in a pretty bad car accident about two weeks. Here is a link to the thread I started in the Canadian section of the forum:

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=558770

The car is a complete write-off but after going in person and taking a look at the car, it doesnt look TOO bad and I've seen worse. I mean its bad but I can work around this car if I was to get it back. I am going to ask insurance for the buy-back price since original owners get first pick. If the price isn't too much (I'm hoping under 12-13 grand) then I will buy this car back and atleast let it rot in my garage till I find front-end parts. If its not worth fixing, then I will part out the WHOLE car. This will make the perfect winter beater M3 if I was to fix it lol.

In the meantime, I am looking for anyone with PARTS !!!!! Please take a look at the pictures and you will see which parts I need. This is only an idea so far, if it costs way too much to fix then I will part-out.

Also, I am looking for an 09-10 M3 with simliar specs as this car. Canadian car though not American. If anyone is selling or knows of anyone selling one, please PM me. I am looking to buy an M3 within the next two weeks.

Thank you for looking.

i am getting a new one regardless. i just don't want to see this M3 go to waste especially because I know everything about this particular car. It's not just any accident car (well now it is, i just can't accept the fact lol). If I can find the parts and bring it back to life for under $25K including everything I wouldn't mind owning this as my second M3 that I can put through hell in Canadian winters. Currently I put my ricer Civic through hell in winter.

If you do the buy back I may know someone who would be willing to buy the engine. Keep me posted.

I'll be shocked if they value that thing anywhere near as low as 12k. If you can get it at that kind of price then buying it is a no brainer.

But I would say skip rebuilding and instead take the all the running gear, suspension and other chassis components off and build yourself a lightweight weekend and track car. I recommend an older, smaller BMW such as an E36 M3 or Z3 M as a starting point. Too bad its not DCT but it will make for a sweet ride either way.

Good luck, and glad you are ok.

^ i think it would be way less

this is how it works , i had a 05 Acura TL , it was totaled , book value at the time was 22k , that was my payoff amount , they said the buy back would be 10% of that , so i paid $2200 and got to keep the car and got a check for $19,800

ended up paying 6k to fix it back like new and pocketed the rest , the best part is that i only paid 16k with taxes for the car at 1st, so i made a killing on that car

so if his payoff value is $50k , the car will cost him 5k

I don't know what to say??
Inspiring accident story!!
Who said cars are not an invistment??!!
Just as they say " if you gonna shoot an intruder make sure you kill him" same goes for accidents "If you gonna have an accident, make sure you total the car"
wow.

wow, it's amazing you have the time to mess with that. I would not and just take the insurance check. I wouldn't even think about parting that out...it would take forever.
