His timing was way off. Either he wasn't trained for this type of situation, or couldn't judge his own ability before attempting it.

Regardless, I'm really sorry to see that police officers have to deal with this type of crap to this day. There is no excuse why technology hasn't pushed immobilization to a level where officers' lives aren't at risk. By ABSOLUTELY NO MEANS should he be out in the road trying to out pace a speeding criminal ON FOOT! I hope police realize that lives aren't worth this type of shit. How hard is it to fit a small charge to a spike strip so it could deploy off a car's front bumper? comeon

I think his target changed lanes to avoid the spikes and ended up hitting him. The way they have to deploy the spikes is really dumb. Can't set it up ahead of time because other cars will drive over it.

i agree they dont get paid enough to play hero but sometimes it becomes a difficult choice because the "something else" could have someone's kid in it.
