Hollowing out your factory primary and secondary cats on the x pipe and re-installing is the cheapest mod. No parts, just labor. Could be free if you or a friend have the ability to do the job.

Gutting the cats in the xpipe with make the car much louder. Gutting the secondary cats does not change too much on these cars alone. Only a slight increase in sound and no noticeable increase in power. There are many threads about that. The primary cat removal or gut will net significant power and volume. The oem rear section will help to retain a decent exhaust note and not be too loud. Removing cats will add rasp.
Plenty of YouTube videos you can listen too. |

Something that sounds good and is relatively cheap,Top Speed Pro 1 X-Pipe. I have this x-pipe with a non-modded stock muffler and I love it. I tried it with my modded-muffler and did not like the note.

Look I think we're all here to help, but could you be more specific when asking? What's "a lot" to you? 500? 1,500? 5,600?
And, wouldn't the best place to start be which sound you like best and work back from there? What's the point on spending even an extra dollar if you say "shoulda coulda" every time you start up the car because you settled?

Just search the damn Engine & Drivetrain section, you're not the first person to look to modify these cars' exhausts... Lazzy ass kids these days
