High mileage m3 down on power what next?

Hey guys,

I picked up a e92 coupe performance package m3 for my track car but it seems i am down on power. Car just went over 100,000 mileage i pulled out the vbox system did a quick 4 back to back 1/4 miles test 13.69 @109 0-60 was 5.4 seconds

What should be my next step for high mileage m3s?

New plugs. Air filter. 109 is just barely in the ballpark for a professional driver and you may not be one. 110-114 is the usual range. Launching is the hardest part of drag racing. It takes good track conditions and a lot of practice. Traction control would be off. Keep trying.

Would flush all fluids, and then replace all filters, plugs, and coils, and run it again.

You just picked it up anyways, so it's always good to do those things.

Would send an oil analysis to Blackstone to see how the oil is doing also.

You need to put it on a dyno to really see if you're down on power

My car has 25k miles...pretty much fbo and the best I could get was 4.3 with ad08r's. Launch was from 3500rpm, but probably could have ran it higher than that for a faster launch. Without the tires I was getting 4.6-5.1 because it just wouldn't grip. I don't see why a 100k mile car would be down on power besides the reasons above. Spark plugs, filter, etc

I am not sure when it is necessary to replace coils on these cars. Mine are original at 83k.

I changed my plugs at 60k. I am not sure whether they had been done at 30k when I bought the car as a CPO. Probably not. I'd say the plugs are much more likely an issue than the coils at 100k, unless the previous owner changed them.

Coils aren't cheap, spark plugs are. Start with those, unless you are paying someone else for the labor, in which case I guess you may as well.

There are many vendors selling oiled cloth filters to replace the paper OEM filter.

Check what version your software is as well. There was a good jump in power from 231 on up. The latest I believe is 241e, get a hold of Mike Benvo with BPM.

First off 0-60 is meaningless for a benchmark. If your car is truly pushing a 109mph (not on a VBOX) that is not that far off of what these cars do. Your mph support a much better time than 13.69. A 109mph car should still be a 13.0 car or better. Would like to see your 60 ft. time. However, fresh plugs, 02 sensors and up to date software can really waken these cars up.
