Borla exhaust?

Anyone had any experience or thoughts on the Borla exhaust systems? Not seen much mention of them on here.

I have the same question actually. There are some mentions of the ATAK system on a few exhaust threads. From what I have seen people really like them. I'm considering the S-Type myself. Borla sounds great on YouTube!

Only real world testimonial that I could find was from Turner Motorsports website.

This was on the S-Type:

Drone seems to be a common complaint. I have a UUC Corsa and with their RSC technology, there is no drone. However, I prefer the Borla exhaust tips.

On youtube, borla sounds GREAT!! The price is right!! I would like to hear from the people on this forum but from what I've read, most of them have MPE, akrapovic or Eisennman.

Here is mine....sound and build quality is top notch. A little drone down low but cruising very little to none.

Are we listening to the Touring, S-Type or ATAK?

I am considering this exhaust as well, would like some one who has it to comment about the top end, does it become alive when you rev it or kinda dies?

I have the Borla Atak and custom x pipe & test pipes. When rev it hard you will think F1 car that's angry.
Have a listen https://www.youtube.com/watch?x-yt-t...&v=rj63aIOHNg4

I have an S-Type that I picked up off another forum member here. Sounds awesome at WOT and in high revs, but there is definitely a little bit of drone when at low RPMs. Highway cruising isn't bad at all. The thing definitely rumbles and does sound pretty slick, and the build quality is solid. Can't beat it for the price.

The ATAK doesn't drone, or vey little. Its one of the most aggressive sounding catbacks out there.

I had an ATAK. For a race exhaust, it's amazing that they were able to eliminate the drone. I parted with it only because it didn't balance with the intake noise as well as the MPE.

I love the sound of mine. The only thing you might not like is the size of the tips. They are much bigger, which I think looks good; but I'm pretty sure I couldn't get a rear diffuser to fit (if that matters to you). That doesn't matter to me because I'm not really a fan of diffusers anyways...

So far i think the Borla Atak is on the top of my list. Anyone have a video of the S-Type? I was curious of the sound difference.

Borla ATAK sounds beast for sure. I have the ATAK and the catless pipes, and the car is ///M...onster at WOT. It can be loud, but at speed on the highway it is a nice hummmmm in the background.

To be honest, when I only had the ATAK on the car it did drone at 2K-3K RPMs. Funny though...it drones less with the catless pipes on it.

I enjoy the sound of the Borla on the ///M3. But I will acknowledge that I haven't heard many other exhausts in person, so I am biased due to inexperience...
