240E in NY
as you can tell by my sig i drive an 08 e92, my software is as old as it could possibly be lol and the dealers are practically useless, telling me they cant do anything with my car unless there was a recal or there is a problem with it, and another wants to charge me upwards of $700 after labor. this is absolutely ridiculous, i just want a simple flash that takes all of ten minutes. i dont exactly know how old my software is, possibly 80e from the research ive done.
Anyone know of any bmw dealers on Long Island or anywhere else in ny that would be not only reasonable but much cheaper? and im going out on a limb here but maybe free? lol thanks guys

Find any shop with an Autologic machine, it should only cost like $100. The dealer probably won't do it, because they have to update EVERYTHING and that can cause a problem.

I'm on the same boat as you I have been looking too, seems like the easy way out of this is to get a tune and be done with it. Let us know if you find someone to update you local

Just did it in Toronto through the dealer. No issues.
Just say you want a marginally better mileage and slightly smoother power delivery that comes with the update. My idle also smoothed out and became more solid. Tom@EAS has been of a great help with the comparison graphs in the other thread of mine. Mine took 4.5 hours and they said that's because it was never flashed previously from the factory, but they only charged me for 2, plus replaced a daylight running bulb which burned out a day before for $50-not too bad) Last edited by bde; 06-27-2014 at 06:40 AM.. |

yea gruesom3 i checked out autologics site, im gonna make a few phone calls later and see if i can find one and ill let you know. but either way you get the best results out of a tune if your factory settings are maximized before hand, theres proven dynos about having your factory settings up to date before going aftermarket
