New owner and first question

I picked up a 2112 m3 over the weekend and I am loving it. I had a 135i before this, but always wanted a BMW V8. This is a base car with no nav. Personal preference. I like the simple look.

So here's the deal. It looks like the car is not equipped with hands free blue tooth. No setup option on the radio and it does not show up when I check the vin. BUT, the add from the dealer shows that the car has it. I never thought to test in when I looked at the car. What would you do? Is this something they could retrofit ? Should they give me a little money back? This is a CPO with16,000 miles from the local BMW dealer.


What would it take to retrofit it? Any idea?

congratulations ! you're going to love it . I believe you can retrofit need to check out the bpm motorsports website Mike should be able to help you out . I would definitely call the dealer and tell him that it was in the ad and you're upset that you don't have it see what you can get .

In Bpm Motorsports website it's actually under combo box retrofit t Bluetooth it's about $1000 get bmw to Cover the install on the retrofit for 1000

Press the dealer about the false advertising. Their guy probably assumed all BMWs come with it, as most of them do nowadays. As Nick suggested above, Make the dealer pay for all of the retrofit, or a large portion of it, as it is kind of your fault for not doing full research on the car and its packages.

It's good to know they are bringing the E9x series back in 2112. I'm afraid I won't be around for it though. At that point I will be 128.

I just stopped by the dealer. He asked why I did not try the hands free before I bough the car. Really? How many people make sure of something like that? The ad says it has it. The car is CPO, so if it was broken, they would fix it. And to be honest, until i researched it, I did not know you could get one without it. (That is my mistake.)

The manager is going to talk with the service department and see what they can do. We will see. I still love the car, but I may have passed on it if I knew. Oh well.

If they won't do anything & your car has USB in the center console try Tune2Air. Sucks, but I use that for bluetooth streaming

Even with Bluetooth, I needed the Tune2Air in order to stream music on phone over car speakers. The Bluetooth that came with the car only works for phone.

Buy this, its really easy to make work, hides in the glove box and connects to your phone automatically when you get in the car.

You Should ask him why they didn't proofread the ad before they put it in the paper. Sounds like he's a dick!!

He was. He also realized very quickly that I was not that easily intimidated.

And to be clear; I don't care about streaming music. I want the hands free phone for if I make a call.

I would get them for false advertisement and see if you can get them to pay for the install of the retrofit or They
take the car back ,plain and simple. you still have a copy of the ad right ?

And I can listen to the Rush album 2112 on the same year! Probably very dead by then.
