Let them think it over a few days. I'd point out to them that its a 6 owner car which always attracts less buyers and what not. When it comes to dealers, you just gotta find the right bait ...took me 2 weeks to negotiate the price on my Z.

Thats a pretty high asking price. Ive been following z06s forsale on corvetteforum.com for a while now and that should be ~$48. None the less nice car, just hear of about of guys running into issues once the internals are modified

I always heard Katec commanded more money. I've been out if the Vette scene for about 5 years now but when their name was on something there was always gonna be a premium.

Katech is regarded as one of the best in Vette world and their stuff can get pricey. I highly doubt the dealer paid a penny extra for the mods but of course they are charging for it.

Winter is a good time to buy a Z06, market gets very slow and dealers cant move them. Modded ones are even harder to sell since most buyers prefer stock ones.

OP, i found an 09 Z06, 1 owner and 2700 miles this last January. I actually found the car middle of December. They were asking 57,999 which wasnt a bad price for an 09 2LZ with those low miles. I called and offered 49k...sales guy hung up on me. I was like whatever...about two weeks went by i called again and again offered 49k....this time they at least didnt hang up and sales dude said he'd talk to his manager. Manager was like hell NO...i was like ok...Well January 15th came and snow hit Seattle kinda hard i figured i got them on the hooks now they had the car on the lot for a month and sh!tty weather is here...offered 49k..they said no BUT this time they said lets work out a deal..i said ok...we ended up calling it a deal @ 50k.

Looking at the car you want...

10/11/2012 Dealer Inventory
West Chicago, IL Vehicle offered for sale
11/16/2012 Dealer Inventory Vehicle sold
11/29/2012 22,385 Dealer Inventory Vehicle offered for sale
12/02/2012 Dealer Inventory Vehicle offered for sale

Looks like the car has changed dealerships...i'd be curious as to why previous dealer wasnt able to sell it?

In any case, Chicago MS just recently got this car which is why they gonna be hard to negotiate ...if they dont bite on your offer now...give them couple more weeks.

Its winter time in Chicago and not many will wanna buy a Z06 so i wouldnt worry about them selling it fast.

+1, did the same thing getting my last M car, it was sitting on the lot for 5 months and they very desperate to get rid of it before the winter months.

Personally, I'd stay away from a 6 owner car, even if it's not technically in bad shape. Plus the fact it's changed hands dealer to dealer. Maybe find another car with less upgrades, but uber clean.

I kind of WANT one already done...kinda keeps me from going too crazy with $$$ modding it. THen again, I could find a clean private sale low mileage one owner and just add blower and bolt on exhaust stuff and be done. I have a disease that does not allow me to have a stock car. Terrible affliction. Just terrible. Offered $49xxx. Im not moving too far off that. Let it sit there taking up space. Plus, red ISNT my color, but I COULD live with it. Did find a nice 09 with 874 miles up in PA...and its anthracite...cars are out there, its just a matter of finding them. Im in no rush.
There seems to be a lot of black ones out there, too...I just see them and think, oh dear Lord, Im gonna be obsessing over keeping that paint perfect.
The hunt continues...

Keep in mind MODS for a Z06 are much cheaper than say E90/92 M3 so you got that going on for you. You could find 2007 Z06 say 2 owner car with less than 15k miles for around 45k over on CF.com...maybe even less. Katech is great but there are many other companies out there that make great stuff for the Vette.

49 offer on that car is beyond fair and i agree you shouldnt offer much more than that.

This is just one example..07 with 7500 miles asking $45k
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...z-45000-a.html

Bet he'd take 43 if not less...dumb another 10k into it and you'll pull on that Katech car

Go to the corvetteforum.com and look at the C6 sale sections. There are plenty of stock and modified Z06's for sale. Personally, I would buy a low mileage, stock car and send it to a reputable performance shop and have it modified the way you want. It'll give you peace of mind.

I did just that. I found one that looks nice. What do you all think:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...k-565rwhp.html

40 might be a bit rough...never know i guess...even @42k its a deal...

Notice on that car..Heads have been reworked with new ss valves, guides, springs, etc - this is a KEY with Z06...you must get new exhaust valves and guides at least or you're asking for a lot of trouble.

Thank you for that note. So Ill start at $42. Hell, even at $45k its a good deal compared to what other stock cars are going for on AT and Ebay.
Only thing I will change is to some different rims. I cant deal with chrome/polished.

Chrome must go, HRE sure can help you get a different set of wheels

I went with P40SC in Semi gloss black and added APR all around CF aero kit including their diffuser

Funny, Ive already looked at those wheels as well as some of the Forgeline Monoblocks. Also was thinking about maybe going ZR1 OEMs. Since tires are new, I think I would send the rims to get powder coated and replace when rubber is gone, lol.
Your car looks incredible. Love the front splitter. Driveways an issue?

Thats seems like a good deal. I'll give you an example. I traded in my 2007 Z06 with 14,500 miles, loaded, for $44,500. If you add the tax savings, its more like $48K. That was back in June of this year. I think $45k is a good price. If you can get it for $42.5K, its a steal IMO. My guess is that if this car were stock and with those miles, it would sell for about $40K, maybe a hair more. Find out if he is the original owner. Call Lethal and find out more about the car.

Heres a pic of mine with 19/20 HRE 540. Satin centers w/ polished lips. Looked badass in person. LOTS of stares and compliments.

My last 7 cars were all lowered and my last M3 was slammed so im used to lowered cars...Z is a bit pain but you just gotta angle it right and it'll go over stuff fairly easy.
