I want to run a 15mm front and a 10mm rear with Nitto Invo 255/35/19 fronts and 285/30/19s rear. The car will not be lowered. I keep hearing conflicting information regarding spacers. I read all the posts but still confused what will work. Whats worse is you call a few of these vendors and they don't know whats going on as well.

I think 15 front 12mm rear is what most people are running. I have heard 10mm is not the correct size for the rear.

you can do 18mm fronts if you are going 255, but yes 15mm will be no issue.

rears, with 285, I would stick with 10mm to be safe.

I don't know for sure, but I think a 285 tire with a 10mm spacer will rub in the rear.

Thats my concern..then you have to wonder if you have to go less than 10mm than why even bother...

We've tackled this before, pictures should help.

Here's a 2011 ZCP we installed Yokohama AD08s and Macht Schnell Spacers:

Front Specs: 255/35-19
Rear Specs: 295/30-19

Yokohama does not yet offer a 285 rear, only a 10mm MS spacer was used up front as the rear was already flush.

I actually tried to call you earlier but got voice mail, didn't leave a message..sorry. So I take it with a 285 you probably won't want a spacer or at the most 5mm for the rear.

Correct, the Nittos do run on the large side - I doubt any spacer would be needed in the rear.

I would always avoid 10mm spacers. It is REALLY hard to make them fit right. BMW's hubs tend to stick out about 10mm, so making a hubcentric spacer is really hard. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't and when they don't, they can have massive vibrations that come and go, all the way up to accelerated wheel bolt/stud failure. The latter happened to my e36.

18mm spacer is the max size you can use on the front with a 255 wide tire. There will be no fender or liner interference at all, even if you lower the car.

If you choose to do a 285 wide rear, depending on the tire, the maximum sized spacer you can use is a 10mm.

This is based on tested experiences and facts, not just on mathematical measurements if that helps.

I actually ran a 255/285 setup on my zcp car. I had 12mm spacer up front and 5 in the rear with absolutely no rubbing. I wanted to increase the spacer in the rear but was concerned about rubbing- so I made a thread on here but did not get any confirmed information. I *think* you will be fine. I had a lot of space in the rear with the 5mm setup. I was running michelin PS2's by the way.

I am running a 255/275 vred setup now, and I swapped the rear spacer for a 10. I am rubbing now occasionally (on aggressive turns). With a 5mm spacer, I had 0 rubbing. I was told in my last thread I would have no rubbing with a 10, but I guess it depends on the tire.

Best advice is just try it out, worst comes to worst you can swap it with a 5mm. I don't think anyone here has tried it, as I believe I was the only one with that tire set-up on zcp's on here who was messing with spacer setups. The zcp wheels look 100x better when they are spaced out properly. Just because the tire is flush (if you go with an overly large rear tire) doesn't at all make the wheels look flush...

BTW- why did you choose invo's? There are much better tires for the money- those tires are pretty bad from what I have heard/read...

EDIT: forgot to mention, I am running MS spacers from EAS. I have the 5, 10, and 12 setup and have used each with no problems. Highly recommended...

Any pics of the 255/285 setup with spacers? Curious to see how it looks. I was thinking of doing a 255/295 setup with a 10mm front spacer and no rear spacer (which is the setup the EAS AW M3 posted above has) but thought it might look a little strange since, as you said, even though the tire is flush the wheel hasn't moved at all. I love the look of wide rear tires though

For what it's worth I'm running Macht Schnell spacers 15mm front, 12mm rear on a lowered ZCP with 255/35/19 and 285/35/19 winter tires (beefy tread). No rubbing issues. Click link in my sig (winter setup) to see pics.

You will not be pleased, I promise you. Having the tire flush does nothing for aesthetics. You can compare the pics of that zcp that was posted by eas (295 with no spacers) with other zcp cars with 15/12 spacer setups... night and day difference. I didn't take any pictures of my setup, as I took it off within 15 miles (one of the rear tires got damaged) so I switched to a 255/275 vred combo. Since I haven't sold that tire setup, I may consider going back to it if I find an affordable rear tire replacement. I *think* the car handled better with my 255/285 ps2 setup over my current. Will update my findings if I do...

You know they aren't bad at all. Would I want to track with them..no, but they do fine on the street and they were slippery when I first got them but I added a few pounds of air to the front they have gone through some heat cyclings and I am actually quite pleased. I know guys who have tracked with them with ZO6s and Viper clubs and they actually did quite well, in fact the gent I talked to with his Viper ran equal times then when he had PS2s on the car. I think a lot of the problem is if you track them they get hot fast and they become really greasy.

I like them better than the Contis that were on the car originally..

I haven't gotten the spacers yet...but as is no rubbing.

+1 - The problem is once you see the difference between 'tucked' wheels and near flush wheels you just can't run without spacers. It sticks out like a sore thumb.
