if you don't need the trunk space (i.e. a daily driver), pick up the 997 GT3. if i had the budget and the garage space i would be all over that. they're calling it the best 911 ever. personally i need the aforementioned space and the m3 is the best car on the road for such purposes. those car magazine chops of the rear though are so fugly, however, that i am reconsidering my options...including picking up an '05-06 e46 m3 cs for half the money. the spy pics, however, and the low-residual (great lease) have me waiting for the launch....

Long-time viewer/member of this forum, and I have been patiently waiting for 'real' news from BMW on this car....and with the word from Scott about a Spring '08 US launch, I test drove a 2005 Porsche 911 Carrera yesterday (11K miles, certified, $64K)...OH...MY...GOD...and bought it. Goooooooodbyyyyyyeeee BMW. New ride photos below. And oh, thanks for the delay!
WOULD HIGHLY ADVISE ANYONE CONSIDERING THE NEW M3 TO DO THE SAME. JUST DRIVE A 911. P.S. Admin, have some balls and don't delete this - wanted to remind everyone of the p-option. Slight chance that I will grab the new in M3 in a couple of years, but having my doubts. (Maybe the new M5?) Will be fun to see watch the unveiling. Last edited by mloyelo; 01-21-2007 at 03:03 PM.. |

And I think the price was pretty reasonable. The car was $79K a year ago. SO the doctor who owned it (and treated it with great care), took the big depreciation hit. And lastly, just standing next to gives me feelings unlike any other car I have ever seen. I hope the M3 does the same, but I am worried they are going to miss the mark just....a bit. That car magazine article and the new 3 coupes I have seen....hmmmm. The lines of the 997 a just so beautiful from every angle. Incredible sport seats (black), 19" wheels, BOSE, xenon, etc...and I have the balance of the 50k/4yr warrranty. The M3 is going to a beast, however. And even the P dealership had heard the word about the Spring '08 US launch. P.S. Enjoyed reading all of your posts over the months. Always kind, cool, and on point - thanks. |

Wow, I didnt know my E90post login worked here. I could of sworn I tried using it on more than one occasion too.
Just want to say I like the bumper license plate idea for the M3. It's more about the clean look of the trunk that I like. kinda like the 6. |

I finally picked up a copy of this issue (toilet reading ). Just want to comment on how they predict the boot lid will be aluminum. Maybe another arguement for the license plate relocation being true. Who knows.

Congrates on your new purchase. I have always loved mine. There is an intangible to the 911 that makes it so endearing. It always feels like a race car, and basically is. Drive fast, safely, of course. Just keep the mileage in check. P-cars are somewhat mileage sensitive. |

It looks lame and i dont think thats what the E92 M3 will end up looking like....kepp in mind that the reason there are so many numbers in between each E code like E46 to E92 is all the test/protypes that bmw creates so for all we know thats a E89 M3 protype that happened to be close enough and had a decent photo shoot instead of the typical "M3 SPIED"!!! omg....pfff anyway....i trust bmw, oh and i still think my vishnu/milltek ZSP ZPP ZCP 335i coupe is going to challenge an m3 or too...atleast all the non turboed and supercharged e36 and e46's out there....no hard feelings guys i love ///M and respect your passion...trust me, if you knew how i lusted over the M5 you'd understand my respect.
and can all you photo shoppers stop making your M5 E92's.......you know exactly what i mean

you guys are STILL debating this?
personally i would rather the license plate be on the trunk but look: this has been staring us in the face for how many months now?
