Then I added an AA exhaust and still in the same range.
I have not played around with the Log box yet though so I will see how that goes.

Key thing is iPhone needs to be stationary - I have the iPhone cradle so it is firmly locked in place.

Also with Log Box, make sure you push the Reset button whilst you are stationary - you should see the Z go to 1 and X and Y go to 0. Then start recording and take off. I normally take off from stationary, accelerate very slowly and change quickly to 3rd gear and then go WOT. This approach allows you to easily locate when you actually started accelerating at WOT in the log data. All you really need from the Log Box data is time and the Y value - note that a -ve Y value is forward acceleration...

Great thanks for the info - I do have a mount so hopefully that should be fine. I will try to give it a shot in the next few days!

for such an expensive piece, it should have some significant performance gains and not just cosmetics..

informative thread...thanks for the info...

I bet when Technocraft does their testing, they will show improvements to counter against this thread haha..I mean it'd be a big piece of humble pie to eat for them to admit there's not much to gain with their pipe over stock. imo

LOL @ what kind of BS they will come up with to show that it gains..hp.
Isn't PencilGeek the one that should be in this thread to make sure Technocraft doesn't bs the dyno pull? cuz you can pretty much tweak a dyno to have it read +30hp or w/e they want.

haha.. guess i'll reserve my judgement till technocraft releases the dyno results.. And there will be no way that they won't find some sort of gains..

At this point Technocraft shouldn't be allowed to do anymore dyno's. Any #'s posted by them will obviously be gains.

Random forum members should be picked and let them post results.

I think you will find that Tecnocraft is trying to do the right thing. Cars were taken to an independent shop and various dyno's were run. My feeling is that there will be no smoke and mirrors. My understanding is results should be available very soon.

Not sure what this guys issue is - in this thread he was criticizing people's decision on purchasing various wheels saying there were being screwed. Then he criticized moderators for deleting his post and censoring to protect vendors not realizing he post had nothing to do with the tread and was actually offensive to other members. Now he wants you to step in to do what I am not sure. Seems like a troll to me and maybe not the sharpest knife in the drawer based on some of his other posts.

You know how many times I've seen a product being passed and buyers being ripped off just because a vendor "hooks up" a forum member and to pass on the word or to keep "hush hush" about a product?

I personally will never buy a product like the charge pipe or even the Dinan version, but just a hunch tells me the charge pipe is more form than function. Nothing wrong with aesthetic mods done on the car but when people start to buy them and justify the price BECAUSE of the performance gains, thats bullshit.

I've seen that bullshit happen before and I hate to see it happen again. I say that about wheels too because how many times on this forum has "build quality & German engineering bla bla bla" come into play about the car or a product? And with many of these "high end" wheels that come out Miami or w/e is just crap imo. It might be just opinion but the wheels of a car are a part where quality plays a huge role and OEM wheels are made by BBS, not in China, for a reason.

Good members like Ed_Lin who paid good money for Technocraft's item were expecting a gain, and although Ed who is too good of a guy and has way too much $$ to seem to be bothered by it, deserves to get what he paid for.

At this point it doesn't really matter anymore. Their reputation has already taken a hit from this thread. Even if they did post some gains i'm sure people will still be suspicious of the #'s they come up with.

In all honestly to me it just doesn't feel right for Technocraft to take any further part in dyno testing trying to justify their gains with their product.
