X6 M motor

Just was wondering if any one knew where to get a X6 M twin turbo motor? And if so what are the prices? Just wondering

Try contacting the dealer or finding a wrecked one is your best bet...

The motor is has is the S63B44A and the partnumber is 11002212348 for the short engine.

Each cylinder head is $3,700 wholesale, so you are talking some serious money for a complete motor.

and also i've found that you can usually find one of these motors attached to an X6M. the cost is about $90,000 but they throw in the rest of the car for free.

They sold an M3 motor to someone I know for slightly over 20K, and it took a considerable amount of time to get it. The M3 motor is only in one car, whereas all of the other M motors out now share the main components with the non M versions of the car.

The X5M motor and the X6M motor use the same block as 5 and 7 series Twin Turbo V8's. They probably share a number of other components as well. So I would think that you could find a used 5 or 7 motor, and change whatever was needed to make it into an M version.

Most of it will be the programming and cooling systems

For swapping into an M3? I think you'd need a bretty big power dome on your hood. Just sayin.

Also, I'll bet an N63 is a lot cheaper, a lot easier to find, and probably still tuneable to 600hp or so.

Just as a point of reference, a new S65 is 28k uninstalled. A Dinan Stroker S65 is 25k. I almost got my insurance company to buy me a Dinan Stroker engine when BMW claimed I got metal shavings into my engine after I got into a slight accident. The insurance company said they would pay the money but BMW had to prove that the engine was indeed ruined. They couldnt...

A Dinan stroker using your existing engine as a starting point, right? So the insurance company was going to pay 25k to have Dinan stroke an engine after BMW said that the engine needed replacing (if they had indeed come to that conclusion, that is)? Why would they pay to have the engine stroked by Dinan instead of just rebuilt to stock specs which would be cheaper for sure? Doesn't make any sense.

Yes it would have been 25k (with the core) to get a Dinan engine that was sourced from the core of another engine. It would have been 28k to get a completely new S65. Rebuilding my current engine would have been out of the question since metal in the engine (as BMW originally thought there was) would have scorned the cylinder walls; thus, needing replacement of the entire engine block. This didint really matter to Dinan since they were just going to tear it down and bore out the cylinder walls to increase the engine to 4.4L anyway. Make sense now?

Yeah, that makes more sense. But, as an insurance adjustor, I would have a tough time buying into this solution. The reason is, if the block was messed up by these metal shavings, then I would have doubts that the other parts of the engine such as the heads and valvetrain were completly uneffected. Thus, I would probably only feel comfortable footing the bill for a stock engine replacement.

That's great you were able to make the case though (too bad it didn't go your way in the end).

Yea someone got it was wondering how much for an x6 m motor to swap in my m3 seems like it would be able to produce more hp then supercharging my motor for about the same price and has way more tq. But was just wondering don't have the funds now but it always nice to dream.
