I've owned 6 corvettes, and just sold my 09' Z06.

The Z06 is a violent car, but it also has a dual personality in that it can get nearly 30 mpg and cruise at very high speeds with ease. And it can kill you faster than a cat can lick it's ass.

I'm about to buy an M3. I wouldn't really compare the two cars directly. I sold it because it's just too intense for street duty, at least if you're older than 30ish.

I miss my z06, especially as I prep my f30 328i for track duty at willow springs. I'm already looking into getting a c5 z06 as a dedicated track car. One I won't have payments on and can walk away if I wreck it...well contingent on whether I can walk or not

I contemplated getting a C5Z for track-only duty, or C6Z for double-duty. Went with the C6Z, but there are sooo many good deals on C5Zs out there, under $15K.

She'll be a fun one!

You sold already? I would've kept it for a while, especially with the amazing MPG's it gets. My E90 M3 is getting 14 and needs gas refills every couple of days. Z06's are amazing though, especially in black with black wheels....
The only thing holding me back from them is the fact that they're really bad in inclement weather and I would DD it.

Mine was great on the road and on the track in a torrential down pour

I'm going to build up my m6 a little more and get some track time, and then decide whether I want to jump back in a z06. This time, I wouldn't mind one that's already built

Dont get me wrong. I LOVED the car. I was happy with it sitting in the garage. I got a wild hair, posted it up for sale at a price that I was NOT going to budge on...and it sold within 2 days. I could have gotten more out of it, but I did walk away with a profit so...guess I was do after getting my ass handed to me when I sold the E90. My name is Dave and I am a car whore...

I daily drove mine besides the winter. I drove it in 5* weather and with torrential rain, and it NEVER failed me or made me feel as though it was gonna kill me. Proper tires, smart driving is everything.

Well, I've got my eye on a 2011 E92 Comp. I'll def update the title, LMAO.
Briefly, I thought about a ZL1....locals don't want to deal much, though, and I know I won't lose my ass in the M3.

I've gone ahead and purchased DSV steering wheel, console lid, tunnel drapes, shift knob/boot and ebrake handle/boot. All under $1800.

That still leaves the seats(about the worst seats ever put in ANY car). My plan for that is to get Caravaggio race seats which will be heated(race and heated, da fuq right?)...the seats will run me about $3k shipped, maybe a bit less.

So interior will run me about $5k, well thats a lot but not really...but after i upgrade these pieces my interior will be right where i want it and wont have any complaints
Having to remodel the interior because it's a chevy. Even if you use gold leafs custom pininfarina styling and nasa seats you still are driving a car whose oem interior sucks for everyone else and that is how it will and should be judged.

Only 3 reasons I haven't bought one yet:
1) Not 50 yet
2) My mullet hasn't come in all the way yet
3) My chest hair isn't long enough yet to poke through my shirt and nestle a nice big gold chain

IF any car ever looked like an evolution oddity then the vette is it. Reminds me of some extinct species that could not make it because they had something completely wacky about their anatomy. If there was a ranking of the most dickhead looking car by shape ....
