Garage door opener problems

I am having issues programming my garage door opener. I do everything the manual says. I hold the 1 button down until it flashes slowly then I hold my door opener down till it flashes fast and then release. But then it doesnt work.... Any suggestions?

Is the engine running when you are programming?

If you have a rolling code opener you need to do what you just stated then hit the learn button on the garage door mechanism then hit the memory spot 3 times..

make sure you can get to the vehicle fairly quick if you have to push the "learn" button on the garage door too (i know on mine garage door opener there is a time limit <1 min). oh and leave the car running too

Are you pressing the button for more than 1 second? It is not momentary, but you must hold it for 1 second plus to actually open/close the garage. Hope this helps.

The way I got mine to work was with engine runing, click the learn button on the garage door opener, then run over to the car and hold the button down several seconds until the light flashes. It was nothing like the book said.
