Noob question about servicing
Blew my E92s engine at 70k miles and had a brand new S65 motor put in. When should I do this new engines first service? And at what increments after? Car is a daily driver btw.

New motor = (almost!) new car. I would assume you would be do for a break-in service/oil change at 1,200 miles and start the regular service routine after that...

After the break-in service (1,200), you should do oil & filter changes in between every 15k services. You don't really have to, but its better to be safe. This is a high revving motor your dealing with.
What was the cause of the blow-out? |

If things aren't new/fresh, i would change all the fluid at the point of engine replacement (tranny, diff oil).
And do the break in service at 1200, same as brand new car. Make sure u tell the dealer this car has a new motor put in and do not follow the odometer but jus do a 1200 mile service oil change. (even though it is the dealer that replaced ur engine, they won't know because they don't give a sxxx to be honest. this comes from experience) After that, just same old 12~15K oil change and always keep in mind of ur new engine mileage.
