Ended my E90 lease today

Had my 06 330i black on beige premium, auto, and navi since June 4, 2006. It was a really good car, much better than the G35 I drove prior to it. Feels kind of surreal that I don't have my 330i anymore. Good news is I am picking up a 135i next week so I am staying in the bmw community. It will also be my first manual car of my own. I think I will really enjoy owning the 135i. Anyone else transition from an E90 to E82? This next week’s wait is going to be painful.

I am transiting from a E46 to E82. I never like the E90 enough to change over, bigger car, not as tight... While the E82 makes me

I never liked the e82s when they first came out, but I see this particular red 135i every day and Imust admit, it is beginning to grow on me... and it looks hot in the side and rear profiles. I bet its a nifty little package to drive too. Case in point, I was talking to this guy yesterday who came off a lease from an 06 911 C4 and has had the opportunity to own several BMWs in his life, and we had to agree that the 2002 and the e30s are as pure as they will get. The new cars are porkers, take for instance the 2010 Z4.... the S-drive 3.0 is nearly 4000lbs... 4000 LBS.... that is f**** insane. That car should weigh half that. I love the design, but no way in hell am i driving a 4000lbs roadster

Z4 S-Drive 3.0 with an AUTO is approx 3500lbs. that's not "near'y" 4000lbs.

Just let go of my 06 e90 for a new 135 and wow the difference is amazing. You'll notice the steering and ride is much much smoother while the traction is still seemingly the same. Its so great, the take off is not as rough, the 1 just feels better overall.

Yeah, I see M5s on Ebay that say 5071 lbs, but there is no way an M5 ways as much as a 4WD E53 X5 4.8is.

Back on topic, I personally like the 1 series a lot. I saw a 135i in red and it really catches your eye. Some people don't like the looks, but the performance can't really be argued with. You'll enjoy it!

Great choice, IMHO 1 series are the best looking BMW atm, much closer to the old E30 and earlier.

Mine was Crimson Red with black leather. Sometimes it looked good and sometimes I thought the red was overpowering. I even tried black O.Z Ultraleggeras and black grill to tone it down. If to do all over again, I would do the opposite, jet black with red interior. Jet black 135i's are the best looking I've seen by far. With chrome trim even better. Get a black 135i without sport package, and buy the BMW Performance Recaros. It's what I should have done. Maybe I'd still have it if I did...

I did all the paper work on my 135i yesterday. There is a good chance I will be picking up the new car today. The wait is driving me crazy.

My thoughts exactly.. I busted out laughing. I thought he was joking! GVWR = gross vehicle weight rating aka the maximum payload including fuel, passengers, including car.

29 posts and you're already throwing around disparaging remarks, and contributing to the delinquency of another junior member? Give the guy a break. Point is the car is disappointingly heavy. That we can all agree on. Personally I'm not surprised. It's gone the way of BMW's trend toward the luxury market and moved away from the performance enthusiast (at least for the US market).
