A2DP on 2011.5s???
Hi, this is a question. Do new 2001.5 M3s support A2DP (blue tooth music streaming). My friend's Ford has it - and it sounds and works GREAT.
I am using Windows Phone 7, so I assume my other option is a simple mini-jack cable to Aux. Any other ideas? How do the Android users manage this? I am not going iPhone, iPod.

Got it, thank you. Used different terms for no good results. But this works.

I have the new update I drive. I can tell you A2DP streaming works on audio only not even work with songs names or cover art.

stereo bluetooth (a2dp) is for audio streaming, why would you expect it to transfer data (album art, etc)?

So in summary, it appears and expect that once I get my 2011.5 M3 without iDrive I will be able to stream music over blue tooth from my Win7 phone. BMW option that allows this - the bluetooth option.
Now I just need to decide, if I put all my music on my phone or have a separate device dedicated to music in my car...

lol. come on. the metadate information was on the track itself.. the streaming has the ability to transfer the information through interface. The hardware should support it. it is just the software was not ready yet.. . if it support A2DP 1.2 it should have track information.waitting for the ipod out to come out.. hopefully we can update the software through combox

I was just wondering why the information on the track was not displayed while you try to streaming music. Because hardware wise the car already has the ablility to do that. if it was not for the software, what could possible caused that..

AVRCP 1.3 provides the track meta data. The iphone currently doesn't support it, and Apple have being particularly slow at supporting new versions of both a2dp and avrcp. It took them this long to just implement volume control via a2dp !
AVRCP 1.4 will allow users to browse their music libraries from the head unit. |

A2DP does NOT seem to be supported by my Bluetooth and iPOD adapter but no iDrive equipped 2011.5 M3 (build 10/10). I will try to determine if that is the car or the phone that is having the issue.
Has anyone gottent A2DP - Bluetooth Music Streaming to work on a car without iDrive? Anyone gotten it to work with Samsung Focus? Can you post what combination works for you?

I've gotten A2DP BT Streaming to work with my Samung Focus. I have a M3 with iDrive and an October production month.
I don't get track information but I can pause, play and skip to next or the previous track. It works quite well i.e. as soon as I select BT as a streaming source, the car automatically starts playing a random track from my collection. |

Hi:
OK, that is interesting. Did you have to pair it twice? Are you working on Monday? I wonder if we I could see how you get it connected?
