Back up camera systems - summary request

I'd love to have a back up camera. This car is harder to parallel park than many (it isn't just me is it...). Can someone (or many) provide a summary of the offerings? Points that would be valuable to touch on include:
  • Manufacturer
  • Display on NAV screen (probably the only kind)
  • Picture of the camera body (some I've seen are awfully ugly)
  • Price
  • Requires splicing or nice OEM type harness integration
  • Ease of installation (probably all roughly equivalent)
  • Other important points not above

Thanks in advance!

cool ... you even will be able to see it in person if you wish ...

I have PDC but still think that rear view / front view cameras should be on this car.

For now it will be a kit only with a rear view camera, with a possibility to expand it to a front view camera, night vision and a video streaming form iPod or iPhone.

There will be two different kits for 2006-2008 and 2009+ models.

Come on Technic, you know way more than that . I was hoping this post would be a good summary of exactly what is and isn't available. Come on others, EAS, doba_s, etc. I also added some other relvant points.
  • Manufacturer
  • Display on NAV screen (probably the only kind)
  • Picture of the camera body (some I've seen are awfully ugly)
  • Price
  • Requires splicing or nice OEM type harness integration
  • Ease of installation (probably all roughly equivalent)
  • Supports reverse view while not in reverse
  • Available for 2008 or 2009+ iDrive
  • Other important points not above

Don't know if it helps, but for my US Spec 2008 335 E90 I was told I needed BMW PN # 66 21 0 412 010 & 66 21 0 406 999. Never did the install cause I traded it in. I had I-drive & nav. I was qouted 841 Euro by a car speciality shop and 1000-1100 Euro by BMW for the parts & install.

The front cameras that look left & right allowing you to pull out into traffic using your nav screen were too costly.

I got my sample today (just the rear view camera) and so far it looks pretty good ...

I am still waiting to get BMW interface for my car that should be here in a few days.

VERY interested to see how this turns out. I love the back-up cam with guidelines on my parent's F01
