Oil filter for M3's interchangeable?

I ordered the wrong filter by accident and instead of sending it back for a refund and waiting for a different one to come to delay my already overdue oil change even further, does anyone know if an e46 m3 oil filter such as a 2006 m3 work on an e92 m3 such as a 2008? They look to be roughly the same dimensions from pictures while comparing the 2.

Real OEM has no cross reference to the E92.
The differences can be subtle, so no, it won't fit.

They're not interchangeable, not the same

If you really need one, advance auto stocks them, but you pay a premium

dont risk it even if it looks the same since part# from both bmw and manufacturer is different.

If you dont want to delay, hop into the local stealership and buy one for a premium. Not a lot of retail automotive stores stock it so just save the time and trouble by getting yourself conveniently raped at the stealers. Cheers!
