Gintani Race Exhaust VS Active Autowerks Exxhaust Review

Recently I got a little bored with my exhaust setup and decided to switch it up a little, both setups were run with Challenge Street X pipe.

I got the AA exhaust, and suddenly I can tell it seemed like a top notch product, quality definately is there. I had read on the forums this exhaust was really loud and very F1/EXOTIC sounding. So I couldnt wait to get this thing put on. Product fit just like it should and its very adjustable so with a little work itll fit however your heart desires. Ive been driving around last 2 days and sadly I must admit Im extremely dissapointed. The exhaust is very quiet, it sounds like an akra setup. Its very very tamed. My power delivery changed a little also. For some reason I feel like down low the torque is completely gone compared to the Gintani setup, which competely sucks as im usually under 3k rpm most of the time. The best thing about the setup is zero to almost no drone whatsoever. Im not crazy about the tips

Now the Gintani: Words cant describe how much i miss this exhaust. ITS LOUD, agressive, people break necks left and right, and also lets people know someones out to eat their kids lolol. The power delivery down low is amazing, torque is there at your service compared to the AA. Im confident in saying the Gintani exhaust alone is louder then an AA+ challenge x pipe. The tips are BEAUTIFUL and big and looks so so good with a diffusor, really fits into place. This setup made me feel like I was driving a bad ass race car. I guess the only down side is it has a drone, I can live with it however. Ill be switching back to the Gintani. The Gintani sounds so so much more exotic then the AA exhaust also.

The winner: If your looking for a BAD ASS EXHAUST.... Gintani no questions asked!

AA couldn't sound further from Akra. No idea how you came up with that. I've had both paired to same xpipe. AA is far louder and completely different than Akra.

There is no power difference between a Gintani rear section and an AA rear section.

AA also sounds nothing like Akrapovic.

Pair the AA up with a catless mid section.

Thanks for the honest review. Most people would write a good review on whatever new product they buy just to justify their new purchase. But I am also confused on how the AA + Xpipe isn't loud?

because his previous set up was a git + x-pipe (challenge street), everything will be quiter in comparison to that

Very true... Gintani is so sick.

Ive had a friend with an Akra full exhaust and it sounds very similar in my opinion.

For my setup there is, im very very confident in saying torque delivery is different.

I dont know man, I have a few friends with gintani and they sound more muscle v8 than anything else IMO.
I think the AA is probably the most unique rear section I have heard.
I actually got the AA exhaust cause of your review. It does sound muscular as a stand alone exhaust, however once I put the X pipe it sounded much more euro.

I just dont think the exhaust sounds very "exotic" thats all. Dont get me wrong, if someone doesnt want an agressive setup, this is DEF a winner exhaust.

That video also has a Porsche running around wit the M3 too and is pretty deceiving.

I hear an innotech exhaust pretty much everyone morning. (neighbor has one, and I'd have one too, if the damn thing fit the E93)

I love the tone. It's a touch raspy but it sounds awesome... way better than most M3 exhausts. And, it's VERY quiet and drone free with the valve closed. With the full Xpipe, it's crazy loud, open.

i think my Arqray with custom x-pipe sounds pretty comparable to the innotech in videos. People have said it sounds louder in person though. My only issues is the drone but i'll live with it

Really, you think this sounds tame and non-exotic? I know the Gintani is much meaner but, i wouldn't call this set up "close to Akra"

Well, everyone has their own opinions, this is mine. I finally got some time to get the Gintani exhaust installed today again. Gintani is about 10-12 miles away from me so I played around with the AA exhaust while it was still on the car for the final time.

Yes, I still think the AA exhaust is "tamed", keep in mind Im running a challenge x pipe, and its makes a big difference. If it were just the catback, it would be much quieter. The 2nd main reason I wanted to go back to the Gintani is because it had much better power delivery and a lot more torque in the powerband, especially down low. Once the exhaust was switched back, IMMEDIATELY I noticed the lower torque/power difference. Coming back to on the freeway, I let it rip.... and ahhhhhhhhhhhhh was so in love again. The gintani without a doubt , makes better power, again this is my experience... lets not be immature and start a war. As stated before theres nothing wrong with the AA exhaust, however its just not for me.

Thanks Gintani

My car with the gintani race + challenge piping sounds louder/ and more exotic in my opinion. You are running HFC's, I cant even imagine what my setup would sound with if I was also. From now on before I ever purchase an exhaust, Ill make sure to hear it in person, videos are misleading.

In my opinion the AA exhaust rear section sounds like an Akra evo FULL system.
