Dealer charged $7 for solvent?!?

So I drop into a new dealer (I moved out of state) for an oil change, out of service so its $250. I noticed my receipt the other day, they charged me $7 for windshield solvent.

I've been going to BMW dealers for 12 years. Some cars in service, others not. I've NEVER been charged for solvent. Let alone, $7? What solvent is worth $7? Let alone they charge it and don't tell me.

I called the SA. He doesn't see a problem with it. "Uh, its in your car now. You need to pay for it. We charge ALL of our customers for solvent without asking if they need it". HUH?

Ok, so am I wrong? WTF?

Stealers!! to make you feel better Audi dealer had done the same with me. Looks like a common practice to rip-off customers.

They obviously don't know how important you are. Maybe send the kid to a state school?

Solvent has always been a no charge and since I supply my own oil it runs me $49 an oil change at the BMW dealer.

Wth is solvent? I would ask them to take it out and refund the $7 just to throw a fit. I would be storming in there.

My battery replacement in the key fob was free during warranty! Either that or the dealer actually likes its customers.

P21s windshield booster is like $8 or $9 and works much better than the dealer diluted windex. Dealers are getting cheaper and cheaper.
