FS: Ground Control EDC Coilover Conversion Kit

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
Sold

Item Interest
GROUND CONTROL
Coilover Conversion Kit for EDC e9xm3
MILEAGE: 20k miles
FUNCTIONAL CONDITION: Perfect. No issues.
COSMETIC CONDITION: Some small scratches from installations.
HISTORY/STORY:
This is an amazing improvement over the OE suspension. It allows you to
adjust ride height at all 4 corners and camber up front. I was able to get
-3.5 front and -2.0 rear camber with this kit. Waaaaay better handling then
OE or H&R Race Springs. Allows proper suspension travel utilizing e36 bump
stops. The spring rate I have is 660 lbs front and 440 lbs rear which is stiffer
compared to the OE of 400/240 (I think). It is stiffer and reduces body roll
on this pig, but is still civilized enough for the streets (unless your in Chicago
or Manhattan). Great improvement for the money. This system allows you
to keep the OE EDC Shocks and adjust them from the cabin.
No links on the website but you can email or call them with any questions:
http://www.ground-control-store.com/products/index.php
MSRP $1,100
$600 picked up in Arcadia, CA
No shipping for now unless arranged/paid by buyer.

SOLD

Still on the car if someone wants to feel this suspension in person.

Same shit I had on my Z4M. Same thing KW offers for the E92 M3.

Just H&R suspension with this...disables the EDC which some of us never use anyway. EDC option meaning no codes will be thrown. I order from turner all the time and they told me this is the solution if I want to run H&R suspension on my EDC M3. No big deal.

http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-53...le-e9x-m3.aspx

Anyway waiting on pics. Thanks.

So it's an H&R Coilover Kit (Shocks and Springs) with the Turner EDC Emulation module so you dont see an error code/light on the dash for $1,200???
Thats a great deal -- except that most Full Coilover Kits (4 Shocks, 4 Springs, Camber Plates, Sleeves, Perches) for our cars run $2500 and up. I would not buy a new C/O Kit with Shocks for $1,200 that seems like some cheap stuff.
Do you have a link to the product?

Just in case there is confusion:
The kit I am selling is for an EDC equipped car and comes with:
- Springs for all 4 corners
- Camber Plates for the front only
- Bump Stops for the front only
- Spring Perch Sleeves for the front shocks
- Sway Bar Link Sleeves for the front
- Sway bar links for the front
- Rear Spring Perches

Oh ok -- I think I found it:
http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-21...clearance.aspx

Stay clear away from this kit = serious crap. Ask the e46m3 guys about H&R Coilovers and they will tell you.
$900 for a full coilover kit??? That seems suspicious, no?

And I dont think this kit includes any Camber Plates, Sleeves or Perches = just Springs and Shocks

Trust me I have been through 20+ suspensions on all my cars since 1991. For daily driving/commuting the quality is fine. I come from a heavily modified NSX crowd so these will do just fine. I had the Moton, Ohlins, Aragosta, Top Secret, H&R, Tein, Zeal, etc...Dont let the prices fool you guys...

Anyway I want to see pics..

If you had the same amount of destroyed H&R coilover shocks from street driving I'd had, you'd understand that there is some serious quality control issues with H&R.

I have this kit on my car now and i love it if you plan on retaining your EDC. This is a better option than the KW perch kit. GC has upper camber plates and end links. Now with that said, i'm eventually going to sell mines too for KW V3 or Clubsport just to replace the shocks.

I drove and inspected this car.

This kit is in perfect working order.

This kit is far superior to the KW sleeve kit for those wondering.

It's not on their site. If you call them and ask about the kit they will guide you from there.

BTW, The set in this specific post is not for sale anymore.
