congrats to all of you who have gotten your m3 or will be getting it soon!!!
i'm finishing my residency in june and am waiting for my e90 m3 as well!! after all that school, four years of service in the military to pay for med school, and four years of residency, i'm about to do ED in july. i'm getting married and picking up our m3 in munich, then driving around europe for a few weeks!!! the wait is killing me. i've been dreaming of this car for the past 18 years since if first saw an e36. don't get me wrong, i'm thrilled to be marrying my dream girl too, but i've been wanting this car for soo long. now i get both at the same time, and to boot, we take delivery of the car on my 33rd birthday! so to the rest of you who were in my position, are in my position, or will be soon, it was all worth the wait and hard work! all the time we put in makes it so much sweeter. here's to delayed gratification |

Hey Skrawny-
I saw your new 2011 AW E92 at the hospital today. Very nice! I know you've waited a long time for this. Congrats! It makes me feel like I'm driving something old with the 09 E92..... |

My wife gave it the name "Stig."
I know, "yet another AW M3." I went through many colors, and it came down to black with a CF roof and AW with a moonroof. As has been said in another thead, I found AW shows off the body styling well. I thought the AW had a less interrupted visual line over the top of the car without CF. The interior was always going to be black leather, and the trim is "Sycamore Anthracite Wood." The wood is darker and more subtle than it looks in these pix because of the way the light is hitting it here. I am very happy with the final look. Last edited by Skrawny; 05-04-2010 at 07:01 PM.. |

I agree. Even though I prefer the forged 19"s, the lighter colored silver 2011 18" wheels to me look way better than the 2008-2010 18" wheels. Those always look like they are dirty from brake dust.

Here I am driving off the showroom.
Other than the test drives, this was the first time I had driven a stick in 2 years. The doors seemed hopelessly narrow and the dealer was right in front of the car waving me out. I was afraid I would pop the clutch and send my new car through a window or run over my wife (camera) and the dealer. -s |

I'll tell you one thing: AW really makes the headlight rings (aka angel eyes) look yellow. I'm glad you didn't run over the wife.
Cheers.

Always nice to see a man smiling with his new car. It may just be a material object, but it sure can be a source of inspiration...
Reading this thread reminds me these things really can take time, and perhaps that's for the best given the magnitude. I think I've been sold on the current M3 since I drove one in the late summer of 2008--but then the more I thought of it I really would have bought a 2004 back in the day if hadn't been 15K more than the Z. And now it's $10-15K more than that...and I've done it. |
