Do No Have an Accident with Volvo

A stark difference between a Volvo and other Cars, Notice how little damage is on the Volvo after the first couple of hits. Wonder how many people were killed in cheap little cars by a Volvo

I love that at the end he just opens the door and walks away. Old Volvos are awesome.

I wonder if the new Volvos are the same. But that was indeed awesome.

The C class and 3 series scored among the worst in safety last year.

worst among what pool of cars? i'm skeptical, german safety laws are tougher than most. and the handles of a bimmer usually mean accidents are avoided.

It's kind of a bullshit test of strength as the little ramp is bringing the strongest part of the Volvo to one of the weekest parts of the other little cars (D-pillar). It would be a bit different if it was bumper on bumper. Just sayin...

Well we all know may people walked away from pretty bad accidents in BMW, however the car was completely toast. I do wonder too how a modern Volvo would fair, we all know that old and new BMW would never fare as well as the Volvo did in this case. The fact body parts were not falling off and the car kept running is amazing. Wonder if Volvo's are outlaw in demolition derbies.

I inherited a 1975 Slovo 245DL wagon from my parents back in high school. The only part of it I could break was the window when I punched it after leaving me stranded because of a damn EGR valve failing.

At one point while working on it in the street the neighbor saw me turn Hulk-ish when I got so damn pissed at the thing that I lifted it off the ground while laying on my back.

I remember a CHP pulled me over and said he was doing 85 and I was pulling away from him. I said "Respectfully sir, no way. It's a 4 cyclinder Volvo station wagon. I saw you get on the freeway at Central, I looked down and was doing 65. Next thing I knew you lit me up. No judge is going to beleive I was pulling away from you at 85 in this car." So he wrote me a warning for 65 and we were done.

I work for Volvo (not the car division) and I've been to the testing facility in Gothenburg, and it's ridiculous the importance Volvo place on making sure they have the safest on road vehicles in the world.

They were recently put on the list of 10 brands that are most likely to disappear this year.

the s60 R is pretty nice. The s60 reviews are pretty high also. They really messed up with the C30 and getting rid of the s40 to me though, They should have just worked on the s40 more. I liked my s40 t5 when i owned it. only gripe was that it needed to be more ergonomic inside. They really don't market themselves compared to the other companies either. How many volvo commercials do you really see.
And i think Maine and washington state are what carries the company.

Sadly new Volvos are not build with the same quality and strength as they used to. Also other manufacturers caught up on par with all the "safety" Volvo used to provide. Some even done better perhaps.
