^It did for the tires it had but I def see lower speeds on the sweepers compared to my other cars due to the tires but it just makes up so much ground under braking but even more so the way u can get on it exiting turns

Car: 2011 E92 M3 DTC
Track/Course: High Plains Raceway (HPR)
Best Lap Time: 1:58.95
Brake Pads: StopTech ST-40 w/ StopTech Street Pads Front / OEM Pads Rear
Tires: Hoosier A6 275/35/18 on Apex ARC8 18x10
Suspension: KW Clubsports, Eibach FSB
Other Mods: Challenge Sport Xpipe, Ti Exhaust, AA Pulley, MS Intake, BPM Tune, Zebulon wing

These tires came off my RX7 from last season, and were dead; my minimum speeds were just slightly higher than my S2000 on RS3. The track was pretty dirty this session and compromised my line. Still lots of fun to drive!

nice driving and nice setup.. i haven't been on this track before but i have a small comment which might help you shave a second or less.. in turn 5&6 (after the straight right then left) try to take a slower entrance and better exit cus u have a nice straight after

how is the stoptech Street pads compared to the oem?

Good catch on on those couple of turns. In my RX7 (aero, fresh A6s or R1Ss) I've found I cut off more time with this line than sacrificing T4 (following the main straight) to setup for T5 (Left downhill onto the short straight you're talking about). My RX7 can go ~10mph faster through T4 with this line, which really helps favor this line, and I need an extra shift on the small straight, then an extra downshift so I don't really save any time on the short straight. Maybe my M3 would have favored more of a sacrifice Because my min speeds were so low to begin with, and the DCT shifts with ease.

That was my first time on track with the Stoptech streets. My rear pads didn't get here in time so I just went with OEM back there. The Stoptech pads had just a little more overall bite than the OEM rears, but initial bite was slightly less than OEM. They held on for 20 min sessions without fade (although ambient temps were 35-40F). I've bled the front calipers several times and these pads just feel a little mushy. Overall I'd recommend them as a good dual purpose pad.

You need better tires my friend! Which days were you there with 10/10ths, I was there friday/saturday and was running about low 2:30s but it was dry. Track was difficult to learn for the first few sessions.

I was only there on Friday. My time isn't bad considering the fact that I clocked that guy with the brand new 5.0 mustang at a constant 2:46, on street tires like me. The GTR's and that caged Porche were at 2:29 w/ r comps. I wasn't too concerned about time, as learning and good sportsmanship was stressed at the driver's meeting. I was the only E9X M3 there, and all the other BMWs were older E36's that were caged out on r comps.

Yes, I saw you run - your car looked and sounded great. Those test pipes are music to the ears. I didn't time until my last couple sessions as I didn't want to push too hard and put it into the wall like the GT3 RS did. We had a few more casualties on Saturday including the red lotus. It is a more technical track than it seems with very little runoff room.

I was in the X1 with rcomps, 410whp, JRZ rs2 suspension, and Stoptech BBK.

I couldn't get a clean lap without slowing down to let someone pass. In the first session I was at 2:51, and by the fourth, I was running 2:37, and I definitely feel that I could have cut some more time. I left for the museum after the fourth session in the Advanced group, so I didn't see the GT3 RS crash. The only thing I saw was the yellow camaro's cooling system bite the dust, and the red car that got stuck in the chicane.

Yes, that was the last session of the day and I got black-flagged for being in the wrong run group which is why I pitted (I run intermediate with 10/10ths, advanced with BMWCCA/PCA depending on the group).

I usually skip the last session of the day due to fatigue, but I had a friend who had never been to the track before that wanted a ride so I went out, and I couldn't figure out why I was getting stuck behind people (like that Camaro). Then I got black flagged just before this lap in the video started and when I came off the track they told me I had gone out in the novice group by accident due to the schedule mixup. For the last session of the day they were doing open-lapping for any group with intermediate passing rules, but the schedule was missing 30 minutes and the PA system was very quiet, so I wound up getting confused about the time and went out too early. Oops!

BTW, I notice you have a Wavetrac LSD in your 335i....this was the track that finally convinced me to order one for the X1. The super tight 2nd gear (for me) left hander and the WOT over blind corners were seriously pissing off the "fake" OEM diff. How do you like it? I was debating between this and an OS Giken but ended up going with the Wavetrac.

The porsche video taping that session, was also with you in a separate session that day, so I'm not sure how they didn't black flagged you before hand? Any how, this video and the previous ones show that you guys were running in the mid 2:40s, and based on your acceleration in the straights, I highly doubt that your car is capable of a 2:30. That's what the modified, & R comp GTR's, Vettes, and porsches were running in my advanced group.

Wavetrac is solid. It's a locking torsen diff, so you get the best of both worlds.

I didn't run 2:30, I was running 2:33-2:34. The car runs 11.9 1/4 mile (http://www.dragtimes.com/BMW-X1-Timeslip-26799.html) and does a 1:42 on the pro course at mid ohio. I have passed many porsches, vettes, and GTRs in it. I'll be at Mid Ohio with the PCA on the 2nd and 3rd of May, will you be there by chance?

Not sure what the deal with the Porsche is but you can look here and clearly see based on window stickers that I was in intermediate and the other cars on the track in that run are novice http://www.abi-photo.com/f737583194 (or just look on the 10/10ths event roster).

Is that your g-force meter hanging from your rear view mirror? I don't think I could focus with that thing swinging all over the place... Nice driving tho.

That is sick. Would love to see a video. Incredible time from a streetable luxury car, especially with barely any modifications. Anything below 1:40 is really moving!
