You mean Brush lips like this?

If you had Polish lips before then most likely you wont have clearcoat over the lips unless asked for when buying. Its hard work since you have polished effect on there and yes very good idea to clearcoat afterwards. IF your willing to send over your wheels I can pm you a friend that does painting and can do Brush.

You can always try it over the weekend and have a painter clear cooat for you just like a painted service

Hope this helps

A good wheel shop can fix you up. Yes, they should be clearcoated.

it's done very easily actually. They're sanded with a very fine sand paper to remove the polish. Clearcoat would probably be a good idea to preserve them a bit. Raw aluminum is a bitch to keep nice.

Your experience does not mean all results are the same. "Diamond polish" finish on rims is very nice.

I was talking about brushed lips... They just looked old and dull to me...

brushed....

Check it out for yourself you may like it.... I dont though..

Before anyone asks.... these are custom built wheels built by a up and coming wheel company based here in NY. They are 3 piece forged 20"

The wheels look good I just hate the finish on the lips.. the picture quality isnt the best so it was hard to capture the brushed look:
