Laser jammer!?!?

I was at the Glendale bmw dealership. BMW Pacific of Glendale. They were selling a laser jammer for around 1200$ was wondering if it would be a good investment? or to just get a V1 or any other radar dector?

A radar detector and a laser jammer are completely different, of course. The best protection is to run both simultaneously.
$1200 for a laser jammer is rape, though. Buy one yourself (I just bought a brand new one from a forum member for $300 (Blinder M27 - retail, something like $479)), and install it yourself. It's not hard.
Even if you have someone do the install for you, though, $1200 is way excessive.

Regardless, having a radar detector +/- a laser jammer doesn't mean you can be negligent with your driving - be aware of your surroundings, and drive accordingly.

I've run a Valentine 1, and it has saved me countless times. Knock on wood, I haven't had a ticket in over eight years (fingers crossed - LOOOONG road trip coming up - driving from Canada to Mexico (Los Cabos), through the mountains, and back - should end up being about 9,000km or so )

That depends on which laser jammer they were selling. The laser interceptor front and rear system is $1200 and considered to be the best available. Their front only kit is $700. While the Blinder is good, the laser interceptor is said to be significantly better according to the third party test results.

Perhaps.

I say perhaps, simply because most lately, there have been reports that Laser Interceptor supplied "juiced up" units to the testers. As well, Laser Interceptor is currently being sued for patent infringement, by no other than Blinder. There is a very real possibility that those that have purchased Laser Interceptor will be S.O.L. as regards to back up for their product. I'm not saying this is written in stone, but I know that my laser jammer is going to work, and I will be covered by warranty.

Faced wtih paying $700 for front-only coverage, i'll stick with what I have for $300

I have never regretted getting my laser jammer, of course it's not legal but it's nice to have nonetheless. I had the passport hardwired with it.

I picked up a laser interceptor for $500 off a group buy on e46fanatics. It works great, tried it out with my friend who's a local cop and had a laser gun with him. Just make sure the dealership isn't trying to sell you that K40 piece of crap that most dealers like to sell.

Find out all the details from the dealer first. What jammer are they selling? Is a radar detector included, and if so which one? I assume this cost covers installation, no? To tell you truth, I don't have a good feeling about what they're offering but without details it's hard to say.

Cheers.
