Thinking To trade my c63 for m3
Hey folks!
I bought a 2011 C63 for two months and thought I should bought a m3 Pros: Exhaust note is very nice Power/Torque is pretty good Nice looking bucket seats Cons: Tranny is a joke to me just an automatic Handling is not good to me/steering feedback is not what i want M3 Pros: DCT BMW is always a more drivers car no doubt Handles better Less weight Cons: less hp and torque More outdated than c63 Doesn't sound as good as c63 stock wise C63 is my dd. I have a stick 997 turbo for the most fun. What do you guys think? I don't plan to mod the 63 or the m3. But I heard a lot of people saying c63 smokes m3 all the time and everybody here in Taiwan got AMG instead of the M. Btw, I would get the sedan. I don't need two coupes. I wouldn't say the m3 is more outdated than the c63...as far as interior styling goes...bmw wins in every category. The c63 interior is cheeeaaappyy

Well, 05/06 already has E90 E92, at least there are more 3ers here. Yes I agree with you C63's interior is not very stylish.

I've had a couple of C63s, but there is nothing like driving an M3
For me I really loved these things about the C63: Seats, Engine and even the COMAND system wasn't too bad I just missed having a M3 too damn much |

Since evevrybody drive a AMG where you are, i would drive a M3 to stand out from the rest. Just like my family, cousins, friends, etc... they all drive Mercs (very nice car), but I order a M3 (now wating to transport to the US) just to stand out.

I drove both and as much as they might seem close in comparisons, they are totally different beasts. The C is too damn good on straights, and even pretty good handling if equipped correctly. I've also read in an MB forrum that, and these aren't my words, the C63, if ONLY chip tuned would kill all the Mercs in the 63 series. if that's true, then that's just stupid of AMG IMHO. The M3 is just much more comfortable IMHO. The drive is amazing, and the interior quality is better as well, but I wouldn't really give a damn about plastic if am surrounded with that C63 exhaust note . The M3 feels much more stable and sharp, the C63 feels as if the body wants to 'abandon' the engine because it's scared. It all goes to what you prefer; the murderrer of the straights, or the Lord of the (nurburg)Ring . I like the looks on the M3 better too, alot more classy and stylish IMO. The C63 is REALLY fun to drive! The torque But the M is just....Joy on wheels. The C63 is an amazing car no doubt, but I prefer the M. You want some loud German muscle, keep the C63, you've got a P car .

Whenever I see a black C63 AMG, I'll admit that I'm a little bit intimidated.
I like the car, but M3 for me. In your case, I would keep it since you have the Porsche. |

I really can't compare the 2 from a driving perspective since I haven't driven a 997 turbo. Nice car though, but when I was in the market for a car in that price bracket I went for the R8 instead. Nice thing about having an R8 is that you dont see them on the streets nearly as often as 997 Turbos

haha I noticed that most people in Taiwan, or basically chinese background prefer Merc over BMW.

Not sure what kind of Transmission your Porsche has. But I saw you listed DCT as a "plus" for the BMW. Hardly. Having just taken my M3 in for service, I rented a 2010 PDK Transmission Boxster. Wow. Amazing. That is what the DCT should have been. I'm cruising at 50MPH in the PDK, nail the gas, and it downshifts to second instantly, redlines, then to 3, 4, etc. The DCT would have done the jerking/bucking bronco effect and although a faster car in theory, the transmission ruins it. After I got the M3 back from service (they didn't fix crap btw), I longed for the Boxster. Steering was more direct, firmer, not as numb/loose as the M3. PDK smoked the M3. Gas mileage rocked. Anyways, point is, the M3 is a good car but has a LOT of BMW holes that people seem to gloss over.
Give me an M3 with Porsche steering, a transmission that doesn't hesitate or jerk like hell, and then you've got something. Again, the M3 may still be better than the C63, but if you are a transmission lover like I am, ditch the M3 or get a manual. Hate to say it, I'm counting down the days until my lease is over and I can drop this bucking bronco back to the dealer. |

get the M3 , it seems you can afford it. M3 beats c63 in every category. and the M3s sound blows away c63. just see every dam review out there on that one.

Really? M3s sound blows away c63? I think should be the other way.
