That's what's cool about it -- it adjusts in realtime.

BTW, in the E46 M3 and I'm sure in the E9x series too, the range (miles to empty) also adjusts. I remember being on the beltway in traffic and inching along. The range went to about 5! I had to wait to get to the next exit before I could fill up. Then after I reached I-270 the pace quickened up to about 40 or so. Then the range adjusted to the better gas economy and gave me an extra 8 miles.

I find the sat nav estimate to be very accurate.

Remote locking summary for NA spec cars:

1. Remote locking is the same for sedan, coupe and vert.
2. Remote locking works if the car has the CA option.
3. Remote locking does not work if the car does not have CA option.

Can owners of sedans, coupes and verts verify this is true?

Strange - I don't have that split armrest; and my non-slit armrest doesn't slide forward. Mine's a Canadian car. That's news to me - I didn't think any North American cars had the split armrest.

In US split is standard. There is no option here AFAIK for the solid armrest. Frankly, I'd rather the solid.

I found out another feature and just let you guy know:
Press unlock two times on your remote key and then when you opening your door. The window will slide down in half way. My car is UK spec and I am not sure about US spec. Maybe it's the same

The dealer did tell me about the on/off switch but I was far too excited to start driving to think about things like that...threw my wallet/phone and spare keys in there and got going. Phone and keys were fine...cash slightly damp!

Just tried this. I have CA and holding my finger on the textured area on the handle for a few seconds closed all windows. Cool. Hope you can get yours to work.

I'll try that way. As the poster suggested earlier to put your hand on the handle, that is what I tried.

I tried it yesterday while on a trip, going from soft to strong fan went from 2 to 3. I guess the bigger the differential in actual v target temp the more the fan would increase

Nav is great but I haven't figured out how to search for the nearest gas station (in US we don't have Google). You can search for all kinds of businesses and POIs. How do you search for gas stations? Don't tell me you have to call BMW Assist or use your phone browser to Google.

Also, I assume the 6MT has shift lights. How do you turn them on? Couldn't tell from the owner's manual.

To contribute to the thread, programming the extra button on the steering wheel to your liking is cool...functional too.

I'm pretty sure the E46 M3 nav had gas stations so I believe the E9x M3 should also. My Nissan SUV does. Keep looking.

6MT does not have shift lights, only the M-DCT does.

Door handle locking works great....tried this today, windows rolled up and doors did indeed lock.

Anyone figure out how to roll up the windows via the key? This worked on my e46M3, but I can't figure it out on this car.

Also finally noticed the ambient lights on the inner door panels; pretty cool.

This is probably disabled in the USA due to your lawyers

Going from memory, so dont quote me ... but something like.

Navigation > New destination > Information > On location > car and travel > Car services > Gas stations.

Whatever the current search is, icons for the search criteria will also be displayed on the map.

Sure. You just put the key in the lock, turn and hold. Windows go back up ... just like on your old E46 !!
