Is it just me...
So I drive the m3 only on nice weather and recently it's been once or twice a month but this has happened to me 2 times already when I pull up to the gas station I have to get out of the car to check on which side I need to put the gas in. The display does not have an arrow that tell the driver left or right

For the last six days, my E93 has been at the dealer having a roof-lock mechanism replaced. I had a 2013 328i loaner, and went to put fuel in it yesterday before returning it. Noticed right away that there was the arrow icon on the fuel gauge. Then thought, "I don't have that on my M3." Of course, had to take the M3 to refuel immediately (because it was twenty miles since the last fill-up) and noticed that there is no arrow indicator. Maybe we need a grease pencil... - V .

But I had to THINK about it! Oh, noooooo!
Would have been so much easier if a servant had driven the car to get it refueled! LOL - V

Based on my experience, i believe all german cars are on the right side and all japanese cars are on the left. No clue about US/UK cars.

the jaguar xj6 clearly had the best solution: one on each side, filled separately-
From wikipedia- "An unusual feature, inherited from the Jaguar Mark X, was the provision of twin fuel tanks, positioned on each side of the boot / trunk, and filled using two separately lockable filler caps: one on the top of each wing above the rear wheel arches" how convenient is that? you're always half-right (or half-wrong for the pessimists) Last edited by bimdo; 05-08-2013 at 02:29 PM.. |

In Germany they drive on the right side of the road so the fuel filler is on the right. In Japan they drive on the left so fuel filler on the left. This rule applies for the most part with some exceptions. The reason is, if you are out of gas on the side of the road, when you go to pour gas you are not in harms way

I stopped reading after the first 9 words because I was annoyed....
Then I read the rest and became more annoyed. My father typically forgets what side the gas tank is on in his M5. ....but he also has 6 other cars. What's your excuse? LOL just remember man.
