My third lap on this track. Max Rev 6k rpm. Speed 180-190km/h didn't want to go faster. Early breaking, cause I cared about tires and brakes. Had to go back 1000km. But for passenger it was too fast

quick question for you guys: do you have dedicated brake pads and tires? I currently have about 7mil on my brakes, and stock tires, will I have to change those out after a lap at the ring?

Reading other posts on what others have to say, they pretty much agree on one thing; it all depends on how you drive. I've 9K km on my car now and not planning on changing anything afterwards. |

Make sure you have at least 30% break pad thickness left before driving on a track. If you have the original BMW pads, don't do more than 2 consecutive laps. If you plan on tracking often, get the brakes replaced by something that was actually designed for track use, e.g. StopTech ST-40. |

Just take a 30min break and it's all good again. Running the stock brake system with Pagid RS19 pads now and it's really absolutely enough. The Nordschleife isn't that hard on the breaks than a normal flat racetrack is.

I watched just until Fuchshore. for your 3rd lap, the line is good. you turned in early on Hatzenbach I and it messed up every turn up through Hoheiken. This is very common. Braking early actually wear your brakes faster if you mean elongating your braking zone with less force. The track was pretty damp so good idea to take it easy.

I'll be up on 24th Sept in VLN again. afterwards taking a friend out for laps when its open to public. If anyone wants to check out the race car up close and personal that day, let me know.
Also on October 1st (Saturday) there will be a group of about 8 M3's. Its a celebration of the E90 M3 as its officially end of production but anyone that wants to join us is free to. I don't care what car or bike you bring. For anyone even just curious about the track, come on out. You don't need to drive it if you don't feel comfortable. It will be a great time. Dinner at Pistenklaus that evening.

there is a group of us leaving from Graf on Friday evening. Saturday the GP track is open all day. I'll contact individuals interested in some private coaching that day to work on basics before trying the big track. going to be a great day and you get to drive 2 tracks in one day.

Where was everyone on yesterday??? I went out there with my buddy with his 135 and I did not see a single e90 out there! Too many wrecks at the ring yesterday, but I was able to get a couple laps in.
Only my 5th lap at the ring and I ran a 9:14. Still using too much brake since I don't know all the corners yet. |

I ran the track for the first time; lots of fun, but you're right; there were a lot of accidents out there and kept closing down. |

posted this on main forum, but its appropriate here.
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=607117 couple laps showing friends line on the VLN configuration. For anyone crazy enough and if weather holds up, I'm making one more trip this year. Nov 18-20 (Fr-Su) GP track is also open which is excellent place to practice or get an introduction to what you and your car can do in safest environment. If anyone is interested in joining in let me know.
