I plan to wrap my side vents AW like rest of the car. Saw a pic the other week in the video/pic forum that made me wanting, looked great.
Wrap is nice and cheap man. Had black before, been trying out blue for a while, but again will now go white. cheers EDIT: Bumped into one of the post': http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1091589 Last edited by Helmsman; 08-12-2015 at 08:29 AM.. |

Thx for that link. It definitely looks good with side vents. Unclear if the AW front grill surround would look as good.
I'm leaning BMW Edition grills and vents and rear emblem. Or just AW vents. My mirrors are stock AW with the gloss black 'brackets'. Carbon roof. |

Here are some pics of my setup with Space Grey side markers and grill surrounds. (Note that the lenses on my side markers are smoked slightly.) Hope this helps you make your decision. While I think the body-match side markers look good on every color, I personally think Space Grey and Alpine White are the only two colors that can really pull off the body-match grills.

That helps a lot. Thx!
Awesome wheels btw! One consideration I'm concerned is the hood gap. My CF hood gap is more pronounced than steel. Black grill hides it. White would emphasis it. |

Yeah, the painted grill surrounds do accentuate the hood gap. I don't mind it, but others might. It makes the front end much sharper and has the visual effect of elongating the hood, which I quite like. It's funny because on all my cars, I've always started with blacking out chrome trim, only to eventually go with body match. And I forgot to post up the pic that inspired me to do this in the first place: |

Hujan, nice touch both grill and vents! And what about the "smokey" indicators, home made tint or custom made headlight all together..?

Thanks! I got the smoked lenses from IND with the painted gills. The white was a little too eye catching for me. Headlights were done by OSS.

I'm not sure if I took pics, but I have an alpine white e90, and tried the white grills and gills. It was ok, something about the grills bothered me, so I went back to black. The side gills in white with smoked lenses do look great.

I have the painted side vents with the BMW performance fronts.
I'm not a big fan of the white grille surrounds. Not the best picture, but you get the idea.

IMO, the body-color side vents are a must-do with Alpine White. They look amazing in white. |

https://www.getbmwparts.com/partloca...catalogid=4462 I have a standard roundel and M3 emblem on the back but have toyed with the idea of doing the IND gloss black rear M3 logo. Thanks everyone for the kind words. Not bad for an 08

Thanks for the inputs guys. Went and re-wrapped side gill to white (pearl actually to for the fun of it..). While there I went back to matt black on bonnet and tail spoiler where I tried blue for a while. Nice and easy to change your mind with wrap...
