LMB, I will take your word on your following statement and just place the order for HRE P40's.
"I recommend the following P40 wheel widths and offsets for your M3: 255/30/20* - 20 x 9 , +19 offset *This is the largest 20" tire you can put on the front wheels without getting yourself into trouble. (clearance wise) 305/25/20 - 20 x 10.5 , +24 offset" Since that is the ideal setup to avoid any rubbing, I'll get those.

Start a new thread when you get the wheels mounted to the car. BTW: What finish did you decide to get on those P40's?

The 285/35/19 RE-11's are 26.9" tall, which is right on the edge in regards to clearance. Stock is 26.3" so you are really pushing the envelope with that tire sizing.
If I remember correctly, you are lowered on H&R sport springs right? That makes the possibility of rubbing on the inner wheel liner, or the outer fenderwell (under suspension compression) very likely. Bridgestone RE-11 tires have a square sidewall, which doesn't help either. I wouldn't do it, but it's your call.

And I will be going for matte black or textured black, as it is called, with a white pin stripe. Wondering if a red strip would be good idea, since the brake calipers will be red as well?

Matte Black or Textured Black sounds interesting. Actually, you may be right about the red pinstripe idea. Trying to keep a white pinstripe looking "white" will be nearly impossible after a few months. (road grime and other contaminates) It will likely start to look yellow after a while. I have seen that happen before to a few guys that went for a custom white wheel lip finish. That color is not very street friendly. That color only works for show/promotional cars that are rarely driven. It looks great but it is not very practical for a daily driver.
