I have the four door e90 335i and when my son was rear facing when born; there was lots of room. Now he is front facing, I can see him in the rear view mirror and i have easy access to him.
Also the Recaro ProRide baby seat is pretty cool! |

First a few questions:
a) Do you have other vehicles in your stable like SUV's or minivan's, etc? If the e92 m3 is your only car, then I would highly suggest you get the sedan! b) Are you taking the baby out most of the time by yourself or with the wife? (reason I ask is my friend has a son but he almost rarely if ever goes out with just the kid by himself) You can easily move the front pass. seat up for more space but not if you have a passenger. c) Are you young and nimble? (I'm neither so E92 was out for sure!) After trying to convince myself being a dad of 2 toddlers that I can live with a coupe, I'm SO GLAD I got the sedan. Bending your body in odd positions to put your kid into the car gets old really fast. The sedan is the minimum I think for anyone with kids and want a somewhat liveable family car. Granted we have plenty of other cars to drive, I bought the m3 to share the driving fun and excitement on occasional weekends and those days I have to pickup the kids from daycare. Rarely is there 4 of us in the car ~ usually me + 1 kid, though I have taken both out by myself. Bottom line is if the 4 of us are going out, we grab the keys to our SUV's or my wife's CT200. We are planning to add a minivan by end of this year too. If the M3 was the only car I could own, then I simply would not have one ~ it would be a Cayenne GTS or X5M. Kids need space for all of life's stuff and SUV's are the way to go if it's your only ride. My wife says I pack heavy but I like to be a well prepared dad. Nothing is worse than going somewhere and realized that stroller you needed is at home or emergency diaper change

here's a quick picture (my daughter is 2 and she gets to sit in the Recaro. My son is only 6 months so he has to sit rear facing behind me but that is only rarely I take him in the m3)
Not visible in the picture is I have a thick black towel under the car seat that extends all the way around the seat to catch crumbs and spills. Behind the seat is a foam black cushion to protect the seat back. Hanging over my passenger seat is a cover that has convenient pouches for her snacks, books and iPad holder. Doubles as a protectant since she likes to put her feet on the seat back. I have to admit these are my favorite mods on the interior as it keeps the car clean and un-cluttered but also functional. Even my wife was impressed (she really preferred I got the M5 or X5M) but we already had 2 SUV's so didn't want a third in the garage. I think this car really fit the bill for me and a whole lot cheaper than the M5. With this particular Recaro, I can still fold the the rear seat on my side if we have to put in large cargo which is a big reason I love this car over my old ISF

I have six kids and finally back to he e92 m3 and so glad to be back in a coupe.
I can tell you first hand that although possible to do the first words your new child will learn will not be dada or momma they will be far more colorful and expressive and your chiropractor will be your new best friend.... Go with the sedan. I also was not a fan of the e90 m3 so I went to the m5 (I even tried the 6 series in between not good) but I have to say in the right color the e90 m3 can look gorgeous! Congratulations! |

funny how something so subjective can be seen as fact rather than what it truly is, individual taste and opinion...

You know at some point you're going to have to deal with the real issue. Mommy is going to bring it up sooner or later. Why don't you sell the car and get a mini van?
My sugguestion, get the van or suv for the family first, then get back to what you want second. Happy wife, happy life! |

I used to tell my friends I wanted at least 4 kids but after just 2, I think I am a bit over-zealous now...hehehe, kids take a lot of patience and TIME. Don't know how you had 6 but kudos man! So do you own a Mercedes Sprinter van? Even 3 kids is a tight fit in the minivan ok back on topic, if it's in your budget, yes the F10 M5 is an awesome ride and un-godly fast if you do decide to get that car.

Wifey drives BIG suv's now (Excursion, Escalade, Tahoe, etc) - but I still get worse gas mileage than her because I drive it like I stole it every day - and it is so worth it! |
