MPE problem....
So I found, thanks to a member on here, a great deal on an MPE on ebay. It was listed as being for an e92....but when I installed it, it is definitely 2 inches or so too short so I am assuming that it is actually for an e90. so the tips are under the diffuser and are tucked in.
it sounds freaking glorious, and I want to make it work, but am not really sure exactly what my options are to get it to fit right. anybody have any experience with this, and developed a workable solution? I need to get it on a lift to see how much I can move the fitment with the x pipe, but am not sure how much room I will have and wont be able to get it on a lift until Wednesday...... thanks guys! |

This is a very minor issue since you got the exhaust cheap. We all wish we had these kinda problems. As others have said either remove the tips from the standard exhaust or order tips. There's actually an opportunity here to do something a little different and creative/stylish. Personally I don't like the tips off the standard exhaust but to each his own. Good luck and ur still gonna come out way ahead. Great exhaust.

The MPE tips are perforated and have a sound attenuation integrated. I believe the tips are an integral part of the muffler design and changing them could alter the sound; probably not by much though.
