Go 35% and ceramic. I went with Formula 1 Pinnacle Series and am very pleased. The Ceramics won't interfere with your electronics (CA) and offer better heat rejection with more clarity. I have all black interior (High Gloss Black trim as well) and it does not look too dark. It is very subtle.

I've attached some pictures below (Note: That's when my car was stock and had the aluminum trim).

in the end, whatever looks good to you, whatever makes you happy every time you look at your car in the garage is what's important, not necessarily what other people think.[/QUOTE]

I agree with the above quote, it is all about what will make you happy.

I have medium tint on my E46 330Ci and have lived with it in Seattle (gray days), San Francisco (sunny) and Chicago (mix of miserable weather). I have never felt that it was to dark in the car, even in Seattle. I actually liked the slightly darker look. I have a Space Gray E92 w/Fox Red and am going for the moderate tint (limo looks cheesy to me). Goes great with the SG.....my 2 cents.

If you have FR Interior Dont Tint IMHO.... I had Imola Red Interior in my E46 M3 and I didnt tint cuz the Interior Looks Great from the Outside. Im not tinting my E92 M3 cuz of the FR Interior... But if you cant stand people looking inside your car while your driving, Tint!

Well after 4000kms now and nearly six weeks I am happy I left my car untinted.

There is some tint in the windows from the factory anyway, the car cools quickly (CF roof) after being out in the sun (40oC+ days lately) and I am not convinced the car would look any better with darker windows, I think tint would look best on black / dark grey.

I've never been a fan of the limo tint either. Not only is it illegal, but at night outward visibility becomes a problem. I got 20% all around on mine, and it seems to be a good compromise between function and looks. In the desert, tint is simply a must.

The place where I am considering getting my car tinted is offering aa 20% tint and it is metallic. Will I be ok with my electronics? I feel like it should be fine as my friend took his 528i in there and he said he hasn't had problems with bluetooth, NAV etc. So basically my question is I should be ok too right?

Thread revival! Question: after posting about how much I love my car unmodified, I received feedback that I should tint the windows to keep the leather looking new. I noticed (like OzStriker) that the windows already have a light haze or tint to them from the factory. More so than other cars on the road. Does anyone know if this provided any type of protection to the interior from UV rays? I get the car without tint will be warmer, which in itself can cause damage to the leather, but I rarely leave my car parked outside in direct sunlight. Just curious to the type of protection non-tinted windows have.

Both M3s I had were factory tinted for the rear 2 side windows and back window.
I prefer it with tints

Get a good 20% film. Makes the car look so much better! I would suggest Hüper Optik.
