Annual low mileage oil change
In the US, the maintenance/service for BMW includes an oil change every year even if the mileage does not generate an oil service requirement on the CBS (and this is covered by the included service on new cars).
Does anyone know if this is also true for Europe, that is the requirement for an oil change annually regardless of mileage (I know service is not included for new BMWs). I have a separate service plan worldwide for BMW that covers all required services as logged by the car (CBS), but I don't see anything specifically about the annual oil change for low mileage cars. I don't think the CBS will trigger this annual oil change even in the US (maybe someone can correct me on that?) If it does, then I think it will be covered (at least I can argue that). Thanks

That is correct. You have to either ask or beg your dealer for a low-mileage annual oil change, and tell them it's stated in the manual. I just did it myself, but I understand most folks not wanting to spend the $120 on that; not worth the hassle to me, plus I do it a lot better . Hope this helps.

Minimum you want to change the oil annually. More if very high mileage. Frequent short journeys and or lots of runs from cold gives the oil a tough time. It get's broken down by fuel etc.
