Performance Friction Direct Drive Rotors 2-piece Rotors
Description
The Performance Friction 357.062.63 & 357.062.64 V3 Disc Rotor is a direct 2-piece rotor replacement for the BMW E9x M3 front brakes. They are designed to be used with the factory caliper, with no other parts or modifications necessary. Kit includes everything needed (rotor, hat and hardware) for a single rotor replacement. Priced per rotor. The V3 design features an all new retention ring that holds the hat and disc together without the need for traditional nuts & bolts. The simplified design also helps save weight and makes rotor replacement a breeze. The 2-turn retaining ring is held in a groove in the hat that overlaps the rotor flanges, effectively locking the rotor to the hat. 2-piece rotors offer better cooling over a one-piece design. Performance Friction's full floating Direct Drive attachment system allows the brake disc to naturally expand/contract both radially and axially without being constrained by the hub. This helps eliminate rotor warping, vibrations and pulsations. Due to the high quality of Performance Friction's design and manufacturing, the Direct Drive rotors are completely silent and rattle-free - a trait not typically found in many competitor's 2-piece designs. The hat assembly is completely reusable - no need to buy the entire rotor again! And, because the rotor is designed for use with the factory caliper, you can still use your favorite Performance Friction brake pads! Note: Performance Friction Brake Pads are recommended for this set up. All other pads must be checked for proper rotor clearance at installation and periodically as they wear. Some brands of brake pads will fit at time of installation, but may contact the rotor-hat during use which can lead to brake failure. Many thanks for all your replies. Hopefully, this is the last query:
If you look at the areas that I've circled in red - am I right in thinking that rust would form around those areas, which would then press unevenly against the surfaces of the hat and retaining ring, resulting in runout? Much appreciated. |

Just wanted to everyone know...I bought these from HP Autowerks...and here is my feed back.
- HP Autowerks....OUTSTANDING customer service. - along with PFC 08 pads....great performance....I barely have to touch the pedal to get more stopping force than my PS2s can deliver . |

One thing that was annoying was that it took a couple of sessions at speed to properly bed in the pads on this set of rotors....a lot of shuddering before things smoothed out. Consistently running in the 1:50's. Best time was a 1:51. |

Has anyone ran these with bone stock pads? I'm looking to increase the feel a little (not sure if changing rotors alone does that), and losing weight would be a nice bonus. Thanks
