You said you were referring to me and now Metak, glad we got that straight.

No, my point with the OP is the information he seeks already exists. He obviously is not aware of it and is trying to let the rest of us know about the real world. Secondly, he advises against magazine racing yet uses it as his support for what the car can do at the same time.

The best thing the mods could do is delete you off the board.

Go to the strip, run the times, then share. Don't share what you "think" you will do at the strip, go do it.

You are basing what the car can run based on what you READ, aren't you? That is what you said. Regardless, I wish you the best times but you might learn something just by using the valuable search tool.

As far as a dragracing database, it exists, www.dragtimes.com. You are welcome.

I didnt start this thread to post what I "think" I might do.
I posted this thread to find out MORE about how fast other drivers have GONE, thats it.

I love these drag racing posts... do you realize for 70k you can build a Chevy Vega that can turn low 8's maybe even mid to high 7's. It would not be a pretty ride, but it is pupose built. The M3 also has a purpose, and I bet that the big brains over in Germany who design for the M Division were not thinking of a straight line. Well atleast one that is taken from a dead stop.

For $70K that same Vega would be able to blow by an M3 around any race track on the planet, including the Nurburgring.

What's your point?

You can't compare a modified car to a stock car, period.

sticky (no relation to me) has one of the fastest M3's with just bolt-ons. He runs some good times at Fomosa against AMGs. Well, not so much last time but he did put in some quick runs up there. Anyway, just throwing that out 'cause sticky does know sumpthin'.......
