BMW Performance M3 splitters available for purchase

Fellow forum member marwan from the UAE has graciously obtained the part numbers for the front left and right carbon fiber splitters that were announced by BMW Performance for our M3s recently. I typed the numbers into Tischer's parts catalog, and they came up as available for purchase ($250 each).

51190404056 and 51190404057

marwan is getting the part number for the rear CF spoiler from BMW Performance in the next 24 hours (hopefully).

Thanks again, marwan!

It looks like I spoke too soon. It turns out those are splitters for the M-Sport package on non-M 3-series cars. Doh!

The wait is still on for the M3 parts. Sorry for any dashed hopes.

I also found a diagram for what appears to be the GTS spoiler but it would not show the part#
Thanks, Scott! The spoiler is referred to simply as REAR SPOILER in the parts catalog, and appears to be available for purchase. The left and right splitters don't come up in the catalog for me.

Edit: I ordered the spoiler. I'll let you know if it goes through...

Edit #2: I just got an email saying that the part isn't in stock yet. No surprise there. More updates to come later as I get them...

Edit #3: My order was just cancelled because the part is not available yet. I was told to check back in a few weeks. Good times.

competition package wheels seem cheaper than the forged 19s. I guess it really is cast.

Yeah, I don't think there was any doubt that they were cast. It remains to be seen how much they weigh in at. I'd be disappointed if BMW came out with "competition" wheels that were heavier than their current 19" offering. Though they'll probably slot in between the cast 18s and the forged 220M 19s...

Are these wheels going to be lighter than the forged 19's?

I don't they are.....if they are lighter, then they are also much weaker and will bend easily. I don't see BMW building OEM wheels that can easily bend, however, I don't think they can build a cast wheel that is lighter then their forged wheel.

Just because they are lighter doesn't mean they will be weaker.. Forged wheels are stronger than cast.. So I was assuming that since they will probably be forged like the 19's that they should also be somewhat lighter since they are from the M3 GTS which seems to focuses on light weight track ready..

They are cast, not forged.

Exactly. Here's a great primer on wheel manufacturing processes:

SUB ZERO was making a comparison between a similarly styled cast vs. forged wheel.

Properly manufactured forged material is inherently stronger vs. cast, so for the same style cast wheel to be as strong as its forged counterpart, more material needs to be added to the cast, which makes them heavier. Hence the comment.

Thanks for the info. The prices are a bit high, but I'm sure after a vendor orders one, they will be able to make it for less!

Tischer has the wheels listed for $539.74 (Rear) and $484.26 (Front). Not sure if that will hold true by the time they become available but that is what they have listed for now.
