its nto that bad, the felt undertray thing is like $150, easy to replace yourself. The splitter you can buy on ebay for like 150. the bumper is another story but it doesnt look that bad...

Sorry to hear what happened...but why is he an asshole? Did he do it on purpose or was he attempting to avoid the tire as well, or did it come off of his car. Either way doesn't sound like it was on purpose.

He swerved erratically like an amateur. And not only that, he almost hit the wall. So if his minivan, which would have probably had Clearance, ran it over like he should of, we would be having this conversation. It's ok though... And I do have insurance! Just not sure if worth a claim yet. I will get it looked at tomorrow and update everyone.

The key words to use when you speak to your insurance is that debris in the road hit you. Depending on your plan and state you may find the cost is nothing or smaller than your statutory deductible (e.g., I know if something hits your windshield in most states it is a free replacement or the deductible is capped at $100 - not sure how/if it will apply in this situation.)

Wow -- glad to hear you are ok, but you must be one totally spazzed out dude. If you get this upset over something a little bit of money easily fixes, I'd hate to see what happens when you encounter something in life that money can't fix.

Would not recommend claiming with insurance...may report to CarFax. That is definatley not worth it. Just buy a Euro-Bumper and GT4 lip Glad your ok.

Trust me, I'd be way more upset about any of my kids breaking an arm than my M needing some minor repairs. That being said, I understand the rant (just trying to keep things in perspective, as it's sometimes lost around here). No hard feelings intended.

Had something similar happen to me a few years back, a semi retread was kicked up on the freeway and slammed the front of my car. Not a pretty sight.

My pants would be permanently stained if that happened to me. Sorry to hear that OP.

How the hell did a full TIRE come off the car in front of you? Scary stuff.
