Samsung Galaxy S3 connectivity issues?
Hey guys, recently got the Galaxy S3, great phone. Connecting to my cars (2012 E92 M3) Bluetooth was no problem, the system recognizes the phone, however, there is a problem which I cannot find an answer to on the forums or anywhere.
Basically, my contacts list does not appear in the idrive, instead, all I see is all the telephone numbers stored in the phone book without names. I reconnected the phone a few times, same story. I tried sharing each contacts "Name Card", no luck, phone says cannot find a device when it scans. On my Iphone 4 everything came up always, it was great, but idk, maybe since the GS3 is new, there is no fix? If anyone has suggestions, or knows a thread that has tips, please lemme know! Thanks! -Dave D. |

I have the same exact phone and I am not experiencing any issues with regard to connectivity.

I have the same phone and it works just fine. Try deleting the phone and readding it. Also check under options and make sure you have the contacts box checked off.
My only question is when using Pandora, does it list the song names on the display or do you get something like VoiceNotes12345 as the displayed song name? Also does the messages feature only work with the iPhone?

I have the Galaxy 3 with no issues on my 08. Contacts show up and all.
A bit off topic, but my galaxy 3 can't stream music via Bluetooth or usb?

Anyone else run into this issue with the Galaxy S3 or other Android phone while streaming music?

I have an S3 as well, with no issues. I have noted that numbers stored on the SIM card behave differently than ones stored in my address book, That is a guess, but might be your issue. By any chance, when you moved from your iPhone, did you copy your contacts to your SIM card? If that is the case, copy them to your device, and it should fix that issue.

you need to watch the phone during the first sync. The phone will ask for permission and you need to allow. Also if you have your phone synced up to a corporate exchange server you may need to talk to your admin to make sure policies are set to allow Bluetooth sharing of data.

Hope it works out. You could always go to the dealership, who deal with pairing issues all the time as a customer service. |

You can choose on of these
re-installing the Samsung USB drivers - rebooting my PC - rebooting the phone (including removing the battery) Even if they do not seem to work you can download a utility called USBDeview. I had the same problem, searched it on web and found this.. Hope it helps!!! |
