2009 vs. 2008 M3 - differences?
Anyone know what the differences are between the 09 M3's and the original 08's? I got a good deal on an 08 but am still curious as to what I'm missing out on in the 09's. I hear the iDrive is new.. anything else?

1. New idrive.
2. Arm rest compartment drink cooler now becomes just a storage. 3. New headrests that look very similar but lack the "active head restraint" feature. 4. Ring around the start button is slightly thinner. 5. Window controls are half inch closer to the driver. 6. Sedan gets a facelifted rear end. 7. Lights switch gets a chrome accent to it. 8. Sparkling Graphite gets discontinued. 9. LeMans Blue becomes available. If I missed anything just fill in where I left off!

Interesting that some features are removed, such as the cooler and active head restraints? Are these replaced by something better? |

The '09 also loses the ski bag as part of the Cold Weather Package.
Not to thread hijack but does anyone know why my 2008 E90 does not have seat back nets? Was there a tsb on it, and are they replaced for free? Thanks.

I didn't realize the 09 rear seat folded down... will have to check that! So far, the iDrive is the biggest and most important difference ... and, it is a HUGE difference from what others have told me.

Are you sure? Mine has (Euro spec) but I can't think why US spec '08 M3s wouldn't... Have you seen / are there any plastic "pull" handles at the top of the inside of the trunk?
