By the way, take a look at the Gallardo price landscape sometime in the US, that way you can accurately contribute. |

Hmm, there goes the point again. Hurry, you might catch it someday.
How many Lambos you think are in Singapore? Do you really think they are in the same price point as the 3 cars he listed? Defensive responses to the realization of truth > Sticky Poor kid. Invite still open. |

Ignorance > Sticky And still the point eludes him. Poor kid. Fighting? Who is fighting about it? You surely aren't. I chose R8 or Aston Martin Vantage V8 for the price point the OP was looking for! No more words needed on my part in this thread. Not worth my time. My points were made and easily understood for the OP and those with a shred of CS. And now here comes the useless, ignorant, defensive and irrelevant response below from we all know who. Last edited by Driver72; 03-11-2009 at 02:16 PM.. |

See, the reason Lambos were brought up, if you READ the thread, was that the R8 V8 does not provide the strong performance for the price. So the V10 was mentioned, but the point was brought up that if GOING for a V10, might as well go all the way. At no point did anyone say get a Gallardo instead, inconvenient, isn't it? What you are missing is that if the R8 in question WAS a V10, the decision would be a no brainer. You seemed to miss this: "The R8 looks different, stands out, but the engine is the weak point. Now, if we are talking about the V10, go all the way, but then might as well look at Gallardos and get a raging bull instead of a neutered one." And the response: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...7&postcount=51 And other discussion on the LP560 and the R8V10 which was a small side topic: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...7&postcount=32 http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...2&postcount=61 Now with the price point YOU mentioned, regarding the US cars, that point WAS US market centric. In that market, the Gallardo market has depreciated to the point where it costs LESS to get into a Gallardo than it does a new R8 or C2S. Now, the next time you make a point about the Gallardo in the US, you won't look so bad. Best of luck to you in your next attempt to disparage me. Let me guess, now you would like a boxing match? |

Your son sounds a lot like me. I bought my car with the same intentions, and after tracking once stock I have added Volk wheels, a BBK and exhaust. I’m getting my Moton Club Sport suspension installed next week. The Z4MC is a fantastic car, and truly the last in an era of great inline-6 BMW sports cars. If your son wants to check out a track set up Z4MC let me know. A chance to check out your collection up close would be awesome! |

If cost and practicality were non issues, I'd get the R8. It's one of those "affordable" supercars.

I would take the m3 DCT.
I found the c2s unattractive. r8 is kinda cute like the tt which is not cup of tea. If you factor in the cost and 4 years free maintenance plus the daily practicality, the m3 is a no brainer. if I'm into exotic car and don't care about daily practicality, I would rather get a used f430 or gt3/gt3rs instead. The r8 just doesn't do it for me in the look department and my opinion about it is still the same after so many time seeing it. |

I posted those pics because Footie stated that the R8 V10 looked better and had a better-appointed interior. The pics were to prove otherwise. Please, .

Back on topic, as the OP is debating only the R8, 997 and M3 I think as most others here would agree that if practicality isn't an issue then the only enthusiast's choice is the R8. |

Sorry man, I think you missed the point too. It has nothing to do with reading the thread, that took place, it has to do with this fact: The OP was asking which car between: R8 R-Tronic 911 C2S PDK M3 E93 DCT So he clearly was asking about the three cars in the $80-125K range. He was also clear as to which models. The R8 R-Tronic IS the V8 version. The R8 V10 R-Tronic would be, clearly the V10 version. The R8 V10 is not even out yet in the US much less Singapore, so it's not really relevant for someone to ask, "if we are talking about the R8 V10, get the Gallardo instead." And as it is, a price range of $75-125k is a big gap. But it's very, very doubtful someone would be debating between a $75-80k car and a $200k (especially one that is not available yet and probably will be on a waiting list for the first 6 months or more of it's release in the US, much less getting one to Singapore). And Bimmer Loyalist we can cue the ignorant hate response from you know who Among all the other things we all know about him (argues with everybody, thinks he's better than everybody, etc etc. he also feels he ALWAYS has to have the last word (no matter how irrelevant, ignorant, and arrogant it surely will be) It's so predictable and funny at the same time.
