lets not get out of hand here. HRE is good but they are just not on the same level as the top manufactures like BBS/Rays/Advan/OZ/Enkei

they're good but cmon..these other brands are in their own league, with motorsport to back them up and not some amateur grand-am motorsport. Im talking F1, GP2, LeMans.

HREs are good wheels but they are NOT on par with BBS, Rays/Volk, Advan, OZ, and Enkei.

The last two designs are actually sold by Vorsteiner I believe.

I think the mono-block 20s are ~ 1k a piece.

I had my brother in law check for me @ one point - he has a good friend that runs a local Good Year tire shop. The quote I got was for the this wheel :
MHT - DUB 3-pc super concave
Type 47 gray/machine - SDC
series Y47

I was quoted starting price of $890 per wheel (price variation depends on offset / width, etc). This was a few months back - I think the same wheel now is under the Niche brand named Spa.

Think about it...if someone is willing to spend $1000/wheel do they want a new or used? So unless there is brand recognition (HRE and BBS), expect to lose a lot on resale.

If you ask me, I think AA was a big promoter of ADV. That kind of died off when Omar left. IMO, that's a good thing, AA should stick to FI. Not get into making show queens.

Unless they were lightweight or had some sort of value beyond the looks, there's no reason to spend high dollars on a bling wheel.

HRE are the shit and made in America. They have stepped up to the trends and still have a great racing background. I have had BBS and HREs and both are exclusive. ADV1 are just trend setters and look great but way overpriced.

The "other value" is that you cannot get certain fitments from the major manufacturers. Specifically, these types of custom wheels are great, only?, options for SUV/SAV/etc. market. The big dogs only make up to 20s right now (BBS, Work, Volk, etc.). BMW proper does make a couple of sets of 21s.

But a *basic* 5 spoke monoblock wheel is going to be damn strong and fairly light really. Just as an example of why one might still choose these for say an M3.
