If you are running 285/30 for rears, what size pss do you have for the front? What is the best set up for 20" rims using the pss?

Not running PSS right now because they don't have the right sizes for 20". They only way would be to run PSS rear and PS2 in the front.

Edit: Misread previous post. I dont know if I want to put 2 different tire types. Looks like the best tires for 285/30/20 & 255/30/20 are the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position. Might just go with them.

Not too many options out there in those sizes. I'm running the Vreds right now. I know there are the Nitto Invo which I tried to avoid like the plague and I think P Zero Neros are available too. Otherwise, going to 295/25 or 305/25 is the next best option. The 295/25 should fit no problem but if you want more sidewall height 305/25 would be a better option. I think there is a vendor on here that even goes with 315/25 for 20s.

My previous tires are Hankook Ventus V12.
Front 235/40/18
Rear 265/35/18

I'm not sure which size to get for the Michelin pss front: 235/40/18?? or 255/35/18?

Thanks for any input so I can order them accordingly.

I just put on PSS's this size:
Front 255/35/18
Rear 275/35/18

Thanks to the list members for their input on this. Great tire. No fitment issues. Simply awesome. I expected some tramlining issues/not tracking true - but there are are absolutely NONE. Quiet, sticks like glue, same ride quality and on-center stability as stock, great in rain.

BTW no disrespect for our dear sponsor, but my BMW dealer beat Tire Rack's price on them, after shipping, on a straight-up, blind price check. So, I ordered through the dealer and had them on the car the next day. Sweet. Tire Rack's intro price has apparently expired.

Has anyone compared these PSS to the OE size PS Cup+?

I've searched around, and saw people comparing various other tires to PSS and to regular Cup, but not a comparison between these 2.

My tire shop stopped offering the 245&265/35R19 Cup+ and I don't see it on Michelin's Europe website either. I'm hoping they don't discontinue this size yet, as it was significantly better than the PS2 in the dry.

I don't know if it's worth it going out of my way to get the PS Cup+ over the PSS. Treadwear, value for money or other such factors are not relevant to me, good grip is, and of course that it is a street tire that can handle some rain, which the PS Cup+ did beautifully for me.

P.S.: Are the PSS noisy when they spin? I had to put some almost new PS2s on the rear and they squeal quite obnoxiously when I get some wheelspin from a standstill. I had forgotten about that feature of the PS2 while on the Cup+.

I don't see how you can compare the PSS to the Sport Cup; street tire vs. R-comp. The SC will be better in every handling category, but unsuitable for daily driving (for most people).

The PS Cup+ is an OE tire in Europe, not a track-only tire. I've used it on the street, and would be interested to know if the PSS is comparable on the street.

To answer your question: You'd have used the Pilot Sport Cup+ in the past and now the PSS, both on the street.

I have a set of 275/35-18 PSS on my car now, and have driven the Sport Cup also. But I'm not sure I can answer your question. The SC has more grip and stiffer sidewalls, period. So, if you push the car hard enough in street driving, then no, the PSS is not comparable. But if you drive in any manner I would consider approporiate on public roads, then yes, the PSS is comparable, more comfortable, and will last much longer.

Thanks for the answer. Well I don't drive like I need the Cups on, but for example when you shift at high rpm 1-2 or even 2-3 there's a little too much wheelspin on the PS2 for my liking. I think the regular Sport Cup is stiffer and stickier than the + version for BMW, but it sounds like it's still a very noticeable difference to the PSS.

I've had my car for 3 years and almost 10 months now, fishtailing when you just want to accelerate quickly has worn off, it's only fun when you want it... I guess I just got used to a lot more grip without the car trying to oversteer (as much) when exiting the turn.

How much did they cost from the dealer?
And what tire pressure are you using?

Dealer had them for about $20 each less than TR after accounting for shipping. I'm running the BMW recommended pressures and so far they feel fine. Performed great last night on the way home from the beach 4 hours in the pouring rain.

Can the dealer really be cheaper. They charge something like $400-450 for a single 18" rear PS2

Been running them with 19" BBS LM

19x11 Rear and 19x10 Front.
275/35/19 Rear and 255/35/19 front
+25 offset, lowered on H&R Sport springs

Amazingly - No Rubbing! Even with canyon driving and the car with 5 people in it. I'll call it a miracle. The tire shop almost wouldn't mount them. But some how it's the perfect offset/size for an E90 M.

These tires are excellent. Cheaper than the PS2's and the performance is undoubtedly better in my experience. And this is coming from someone that has not run any other tire but a PS2 since 2003.

At just over $300 a tire, more wet traction, and higher treadwear rating, the PS2 becomes quickly unappealing.

Those are really wide wheels for the tire size. Any pics?

Agreed... something in a 265/30 and 295/30 might work better on the rims (but may rub depending on tire choice).

Anybody have pics of 275 (or 265)/295 PSS on an E92 ZCP? Considering doing this but have only seen and heard feedback on an E90.
