FS: Vanguard Titanium Exhaust for E90/E92/E93
After much back and forth, I've decided I'm selling my Vanguard Exhaust. I just bought a custom made 3" header-back exhaust, so I'm going to part ways with my beloved Vanguard. I bought this from PYSpeed in April of 2011 for $2,600. I installed the day after I picked up my car from the Performance Delivery Center. It went on the car at 589 miles and was removed yesterday, April 27th, with 12,882 miles on the car. As shown in the photos below, I have the original box. It comes complete and ready to bolt onto your car. I even have the Vanguard T-shirt that came with it. The only thing missing is the Vanguard sticker that's stuck to my tool box. I'm that guy that everyone buys from second hand because I take really good care of my stuff. I'm asking a premium over what exhausts typically sell for second hand. It is clean, well taken care of, and complete. I know I pay more for stuff where there is obvious care taken. Price $1,650 shipped Specs from PYSpeed site: Vanguard's BMW E9X M3 Titanium Exhaust system is a proven performer, made from high grade titanium alloy for maximum performance and weight savings. A fully bolt-on system, specifically designed and manufactured for the latest BMW M3 high performance vehicles, unleashing the potential of M Power's potent S65 V8 powerplant. Its twin canister design provides both a deep rumble as well as an aggressive high-rpm tone without drone or excessive idling noise. - Aircraft grade titanium alloy for Ultra-lightweight performance (19 lbs vs 55 lbs stock system) - Dyno-proven gains, 15+ HP, 5+ lb/ft TQ at the wheels on Mustang MD-500 (*) - Twin-canister design for maximum flow and aggressive tone without droning - Complete bolt on system including titanium connecting pipes, no cutting or other modifications necessary - Fully adjustable tips for perfect fitment on Coupe (E92) Sedan (E90) and Convertible (E93) M3 models This exhaust is pretty awesome. I can't figure out why more people don't buy this. I've had paired with the stock mid-pipe. There is none of the dreaded drone that everyone seems so concerned about, and it's 46lb. lighter than the stock exhaust. It bolts right on and fit perfectly from day one. Here is the video I made: I later went catless with Dinan Middle Racing Exhaust. It livened up the Vanguard a bit. I'd say about a 15-20dB increase in "loudness." It does make a catless set-up very liveable. Here is the catless video: I took the car to the dyno last week on April 25th for the first time. I didn't have a stock one done. The car made 359whp/297wtq on a pretty unforgiving Mustang Dyno. I would guess the BMC Filter, Dinan/Vanguard Combo with Evolve tune is making right around 395whp on a DynoJet. Here is the dyno video: Now onto the current condition. The exhaust looks pretty good. There are no dents or dings. I would literally climb under the car during every wash to clean the canisters. I cleaned it up and took some photos. Here you go: On the car. Photos taken today, April 28th: Last edited by Money2536; 05-01-2013 at 09:34 AM.. |

Wow, this is a fantastic looking exhaust. Sounds great!
It's refreshing to see another person who actually takes care of things GLWS (Half-off pricing for a Villanova alum? The school took all my money. (not actually a joke))

Ha...ha. All Villanova Alums are ballers, so I know you have the cash. When did you graduate? I'm an EE class of '02.

Nova law class of 08. I see you moved on to better weather - I stuck around like a fool lol. I would be significantly more baller if someone would just kill Sallie Mae for me.

Nice pics. That's how you put up a FS ad! BTW, the vanguard sure looks a lot like the Megan exhaust you can get on ebay for $600 or so.
Anyways..GLWS

Ha...ha. I'm surprised it took this long to get a Megan comment. I also hear Kia makes a pretty comparable car to the M3 for 18 grand.

Actually check again. A stainless steel Megan exhaust would be around $600 but a titanium MR will still run you ~$2000. Not saying it's the same or even similar at all because I have no idea, but compared to a titanium Megan this is still an awesome deal... GLWS OP
