Congratulations. That wait is going to be MISERABLE. I made the mistake of driving one of the m3's on the lot again...made everything worse. haha
Good luck on the wait!!

Congratulations to you too M3maniac20! How long ago did you place your order? Has two months ever passed more slowly?

Off topic, what's the deal with the auto-high beams? Obviously, they sense light and know when to be high and low, but do you have control over the feature? Meaning, could you turn auto-high beam off if you wanted? And possibly a stupid question, but you still have control over your high's, you can turn them on voluntarily correct?

Auto high beams are off by default. Every time you want them on you push forward on the stalk to activate the feature. You can control the lights manually. Congrats on the new order. F'in awesome choice!

I wondered the same and asked the dealer. The idea is that they turn off automatically when they sense light coming from the opposite direction. Since they can be turned off I decided the cost wasn't prohibitive so why not? We'll see...

Fantastic set up. I personally would have ordered the competition package and deleted the moonroof. If you plan on tracking the moonroof gives you less headroom for your helmet.
I've seen this color combination, though, and I think it is just incredible!

Heheh, indeed. I thought about this a lot but finally decided against ZCP for the following reasons:

1. The wheels that come with the ZCP package are beautiful but I've always loved the 19" Light alloy Double-spoke wheels which, to me, provide a more "classic" M look. It was a difficult decision.
2. This car will be my daily driver and I thought that the 10mm lower ride height wasn't necessary. M school is a definite yes so I will be going to SC prior to picking up my car. I do plan on taking the car out on the track occasionally but, again, I'll be driving this beast to work every day. I also wanted a ride that was a tad less stiff.
3. And, as a daily driver, I didn't want to give up on convenience features such as the moon roof.

Either way the decision was a compromise. I finally leaned toward the look I've always wanted and convenience/comfort. If this was a 3rd car (weekend/hobby) I might have gone a different direction entirely. In that case, I probably would have decided on the coupe, carbon fiber roof and ZCP.

Only 7 weeks and 6 days until touchdown!

Congrats! And good color choice.

Count me in the group that also would have passed on the moonroof. I wish mine didn't have it because I never use it, it gets in the way when trying to polish/seal/wax, and the fuzzy material around the edge of it catches lint from microfiber towels. Not to mention that I prefer the look of the solid roof. I hadn't even thought about the headroom issue (I'm not tall anyway) but that's yet another good point. But to each his own...most people seem to like moonroofs, so if you do and you will actually use it then obviously you made the right choice!

I have that feature on two of my cars, and neither work well for me.

Yes you can manually control them (at least according to the manual). Push forward once turns on the 'auto' function (same motion as normal on). If auto turned highs on but you want off just turn it off (pull back). If auto turned them off but you want them on push forward again and high beams are now manual on (you have to pull back to turn the off).
