Insurance Rates in Baltimore?

Hey guys,

I know it's tough to compare apples to apples given everyone's profile is a bit different, but I'm moving to Baltimore from Cali and was curious what I should expect for insurance rates? I keep hearing Baltimore, given it's "the wire" reputation, will have sky high rates? Is that true?

My insurance rate is crazy more expensive in MD then it was in CA.

This was a few months ago. Made me want to not register the car in MD. State Farm, USAA, All State... All around double the CA rate.

Good Luck

My suggestion is to live outside the city, suburban insurance rates are much better.

I work in Baltimore but live outside 695. Will PM me you more information.

Suburb better, whatever you do, don't lie to your insurance about your residency, it's fraud, and if something happens and they find out, you could be out a lot of money. Best way to check is do a zip code check with an agent

My insurance rate jumped moving from Va to Md. MD just has really shitty drivers between the Baltimore and DC beltways.

I just switched to Geico from Met. Same coverage was less than half of what I was paying.

I am 28 and I live in downtown Baltimore, by 1st Mariner. 100k/300k/100k and $500 deductable for about $100 a month. Decent record, not clean. Been with Statefarm for 10 yrs. Been on my own since college and have built really good credit. I dont know other state rates but I have been in MD for all of my life and the rates are not bad. I know of other my age paying alot more for minimum coverage. I am actually paying a bit less for my e92 m3 then when i had my e92 335i
